Ok, come december i get a new car and I'm really thinking the STi like an used 04 or 05, but I was just wondering.. How reliable.. what are problems your finding you have to replace... How do you like as a daily driver... and such.. thanks for your time

Sign up on awdpirates.net and ask that there. There are plenty of STI owners who daily drive their cars. I think one guy has about 60k miles now.

I dont daily mine so I cant really say much about wear and tear. I havent had to replace anything except the crappy rear swaybar endlink. It's too short for it's own good so when you raise the car up and then drop it back down, it may have a tendency to twist the bar the other way causing the endlinks to bend.

To same some money I plan on getting an 04 but is there a really big differnece between the 04's and 05's? I am just looking for a car that will be a good daily driver and also be a fun car when I need it... and what is a good price and things to loook for when looking at them?

there are actually quite a few differences between the 04's and 05's. a couple cosmetic ones, but a few performance related changes. check out awdpirates, that site is almost all suby people.

my friend just bought an 05 STI for his daily, he likes it a lot so far.

32,000 on my 05. I love it. I broke my rear endlinks, so those are upgraded now. Otherwise car kicks ass. Don't regret it for a day.

^^have you looked at insurance on it yet zzzciviczzz? Based on your insurance for the civic, i cant imagine what it would be for the STI. I am having the same dilemma.

Well for a WRX it was only like $20 more a month for some reason. But I do have a couple tickets dropping off in January, but like 2-3 more in May. I think I'd be ok.. if not, then I'll wait til May to get one. No worries. :)

If you just want a daily driver that's fun every now & then.... why not a WRX?

It would save you quite a bit of money!

I just rode in Hungs on Sat or Sun. Very, very quick car. I am super impressed. Funny you say that, when I got out I had a permagrin...:)

as long as you dont mind the stiff ride which i happen to like and the soft tires which you'll replace more often and remember you pretty much have to replace all 4 when you. if you dont mind these then you'll LOVE the STi oh and yeah your insurance will be sky high if they will even insure you in that car. good luck buddy
