What do you guys think about Zip's EBL? I was thinking of possibly getting one. What would the cost/benefits be compared to an AEM standalone? Also how is Steve's car coming along with the AEM? Any plans for a dyno soon? thanks :)

Actually the ebl is being replaced by the ebl evo here real soon. Basically it will have the features of the ebl and efvc plus a lot of fuel tuning options. At the price range he is hoping to hit I don't think there is a better value out there as far as piggy back electronics. Even if you later went with a standalone the ebl would be helpful because it is the only way to controll boost with a supercharger. I might even look into this sucker instead of a standalone. Or I may get an AEM, i'm still waiting to see what we can do with steve's.

Here are the features and a bit more info on the ultimate fuel controller.

Hey guys, I came up with a new project to work on if there are enough members interested. I'm considering manufacturing an Ultimate Fuel Controller, UFC, that will rival the Apex VAFC. The UFC will have the following features:
1) Full fuel mapping from 500-12800rpm at 500rpm increments. The UFC will have tables for vacuum and boost. The vacuum tables will just resemble the VAFC based on hi/lo throttle applications. However, unlike the VAFC the UFC will have boost tables with 2psi/500rpm increments from 1-11psi (stock MAP sensor limit), 3 bar mapping will be optional.

2) Reactive fuel correction based on the intake air temperature sensor. This will help lean the maps when the intake charge temps are high, conversely it will richen the maps when the intake charge temps are low. The threshold for correction are user adjustable.

3) Open and closed loop features. You can program the UFC to switch to open loop prior to boost for JRSC users.

4) Digital VAC/Boost gauge.

5) AF warning alarm, adjustable setting to warn the user of a lean condition at WOT.

6) Programmable vtec engagement.

7) An optional backlight liquid crystal display unit.

8) An optional programmable shift light.

The UFC will be able to control 370cc and up to 440cc injectors with an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. So you can toss your, rising rate regulator, FMU, out the window. The UFC is slated to cost around the $200 region and will be housed in compact & sleek, enclosure.

Depends what you want out of it. I'd say since you dont hit the track that often the ebl would fit right for you. Easy to use and alot of features.

So is it now going to be the EBL+UFC? Or does the UFC control everything that the EBL+EFVC controlled before? What's his ETA on this?

I think it will be called the ebl evo. Then there is going to be just a fuel controller I believe it will be called the ultimate fuel controller, but i'm not sure. The ebl evo will do everything the ebl did, plus all of the new features..... Oh and it will cost less :)

As for an eta, i'll find out when it should be out.

thanks Brian. Ted's right, i don't race that often, although I do want to get some runs this upcoming season. But at that price with all the features, it's a good buy. I could finally get rid of that bypass valve thats been sticking, and I could always upgrade to a standalone in the future. Let me know when it's out please. Thanks again. :)
