View Full Version : Dyno day at PFI. We need at least 10 cars.
Kwando

When I got my dyno today, Paul from PFI informed me that we can rent the dyno for 8 hours. The price for 8 hours is $500.00. If we get a minimum of 10 people that is only $50.00, but i am sure we can get more.
I am going to post on RSX and S2000 board.
Anyone interested?

Too bad I am in Germany... I will when I get back and have the new motor... Maybe there will be another group by then.
This has probably been asked & answered before, but my short term memory is gone (due to heavy recreational chemical use when I was younger).
Do they have a wideband O2 sensor, and if so, does the price quoted above include the use of it?
Thanks.

he he he, sorry John, they don't have the wideband O2 yet... but I think they are planning on buying it soon. Just need to recover some of that up front $$ they had to fork out for the dyno.

Even if we don't get 10 people they are only charging $50.00 for base dyno runs.

I've never done a dyno, but 8 hours? is that really necessary? in anycase, I'll go if you can get the price under $20 :P

Sorry, they don't have an AWD dyno... unless you wanted to test something else that is...

ah ok, I don't have $20 anyway :P
I am very curious tho, so when you all wanna go to one that does have AWD and I have money I'd love to go :)

I would go, but my transmission is broken and my motor is in a sad state of tune right now :( . As soon as these are cleared up, though, I'll definitely be up for it.

Correction factor is determine at the time of the run. Its a factor of Humidty, Wet Bulb Temp, and the current Barometer. Its normall between 1.19-1.21 up here.

It is at exit 265 off of I-25. If you exit at Harmony road, head West, then turn left on College(287) It will be 1 mile south. It is across from the big ass Tynan's Nissan Flag. You turn left on Bueno drive. They will be a couple buildings down. Should be about 120ish miles for you guys from the springs.

About what time is everyone heading out? Should we pick a meeting spot somewhere and then all of us caravan up there? I think that would be a cool way to announce our presence.

I will be there his Saturday to get my car re-dyno'ed.
I don't plan on having the event until a few weekends from now. Even if we do not get 10 people they only charge $50 for a base dyno run anyways. Not a bad price!
But if we get 15 people we are looking at only around $34 buck! The more people we can get the cheaper it is.
When I sai 8 hours, we are renting the dyno out for the whole day. As many runs as we can get in on a 8 hour day!
So far I have 5 from HAI, 2 (maybe 3) from S2000 board, and a few from dtmpower.net.
BTW they have having a meet on March 2nd. Anyone going to be there?

$50 just to see what hp. that is absurd!!!! why is it that places with a dyno think they can charge out the ass for it?? i know a place in wyoming that gets $60 an hour, tune or just do a bunch of runs. that is a much better price than BFI. but i guess they have to pay for all those motors somehow;)
B16crxTurbo
02-20-2002, 07:46 AM
That's really the standard rate. I think that is the same price that Paragon charges, and I know it is the same as Dyno-Pro. Bear sometimes charges more than $50 depending on his mood.
