court called it lidar.... i googled it and it came up as a light technology used to check speeds n shit, so i think its laser but still...... I just want to be sure...

yea i believe so. ive only had my v1 for like a month but no laser warnings yet

Yes, LIDAR and "Laser" are the same thing. The V1 will pick it up better than the rest, but it's still not much warning... in order to be warned in time, a car in your line-of-sight needs to be clocked with it before you are, then you jam on the brakes and you get clocked a couple of seconds later. It's much like instant-on radar, but it doesn't bounce over hills or around corners, so you need line-of-sight to the cop and/or another car being clocked.

I am borrowing the boss's Passport X50 while his 9-3 is down for some development work. I got on C470 this morning going south in Golden (very beginning of C470) and Johnny Law was around the bend, pointing his gun o' fines at oncoming traffic. It was a bike cop and the gun was smaller than the Stalker unit they use in their cars. I figured being there in the vicinity, and the waves bouncing off the traffic and the concrete would get a reaction out of the X50. Nope.

I think it was laser, and if thats the case and its that hard to detect, godspeed fellow speeders.

Yep, that is the one you have to watch out for. Makes me nervous everytime I see a cop clocking someone and I don't get jack. I guess you could say just a reminder to stay within the limits.
