View Full Version : New Parts for Talon

Got some new stuff for the Talon. A 304ss O2 sensor housing along with a half downpipe (open exhaust), 550cc/min injectors, an AFC, and I have a ported 2G manifold. The stuff should be on in the next few weeks. My expectations are simple: more power, more speed. I really want a 109mph trap by the first T&T. We'll see though. I'm guessing an additional 60hp on top of an estimated 270whp, maybe more.

I can't wait to get her out on the road with some 117 octane and 25psi. The thing should be sucking the doors off Vipers and most anything else.

were you running stock injectors before? Want to sell them?

Sure, when I get the 550s in I'll the sell the stockers. They are 450cc/min low impedance densos. Will that work for you? How much do you want to pay?

Yep, those work on my car with a resistor pack. Hmmm i'm not even sure how much they are worth. Let me think about that.

You are still running the 18g right?

I'm hoping to hit very low 13s with 20psi on mine. I just don't want any more tranny problems.:rolleyes:

I think you can with the right tuning.

On kind of a side note, a CoDSM'er hit 12.9 with stock turbo and stock IC. Of course his car was very well tuned and on a strict diet. :eek:

The fastest CoDSM 1/4 mile time was done with a 16G (and a bunch of other mods).

That was Gabe with the Laser. I didn't know what turbo he was running,that's pretty cool.
I've got one more season on the smic then it's a full fmic.:D

I'm 90% sure Gabe hit an 11.9XX with the 16G and no nos. His absolute quickest is an 11.7XX with a small shot of NOS.

He swithched to a Buscher (sp?) 20g right before the last import event but had wastegate problems the night before so he didn't compete. I'm anxious to see what he, Dave, and Dan Harris do this year with thier 1g's.

Greg Doyle was the guy with the white, low 12 second 2g that blew his motor at the last import event. I took myself off the CoDSM list shortly after, but I'm pretty sure he'll be kicking some serious ass this year too. Oh, and not to mention Hal. There are going to be some seriously fast DSMs this year in Colorado.

I keep thinking I need another DSM until I remember how much work it was. ;)

I need 1 of those injectors. When i was rebuilding my head i noticed that one of the injetors had a cracked tip. So now i can spin the tip when the rest of them are solid. Now im thinking this is what is giving me my bad idle.

Erik Westlund hit a 12.6@108 with the 18G on 104 octane. I hope to go faster with a lighter car and more octane. The 18G is pretty okay for a light drag car.

I have a second set of stock injectors available to me. I probably won't be splitting them up smaller than sets of four but they will be cheap.

I would recommend having them cleaned by RC. E-mail in me in private with offers if anyone is interested.

Dude, please, PLEASE, make sure you are running a test pipe, have 117 octane and are going to run at a more manly boost level. The 18G really gets into it at around 22-24psi.

I know your car has mid 12s in it almost as it stands. I know it. If you are worried about your tranny then go for traps (I don't want to jinx you but I estimate at least a 105mph trap). Shifting slow and nice is better for consistancy anyway (I know you like bracket racing).

Of course I'm running a test pipe but I have the 2 3/8s inch HKS exhaust and I don't think the stock IC will cool my charge enough.
24 psi? Yikes,i don't want to pop my head. I'm gonna go with a conservative 20psi and work up from there and watch what my datalogger is telling me.
If I click off a 12.999999 I would be very content (yeah,right) because from what I've seen at Bandi $$$ doesn't always make you super fast and I really only have basic mods and 108k on my motor.
I've seen other DSMs out at Bandi with bigger turbos,injectors and fmic that could barely break a 13 and I ran my 13.99 on a small 16g running 16psi.
BTW I did that run against Hal aka thimages. I lost the bracket (I was dialed a 14.01) but I didn't care.

so if i run a 11.89 in iowa what will i run in CO i am only boosting 22psi right now if i go there this summer. i will turn it up too 25psi hehehei hope to go 11's in CO.
