Under normal acceleration my car shimmies a little bit but under hard acceleration my car shakes like a bitch I have falken tires on 99-00 si wheels it didnt do it before. I put a new drivers axle in cause the boot was shot on my original one, Didnt notice til too late, ran the bearings dry in the cv joint. could this have ruined my int. shaft? Any ideas on the problem? I have a b16 in a crx dx with hasport mounts. Just started doing it recently. Please help, thank you in advance.

i had a similar problem with my old prelude... i knew the tie rod ends were bad... after that i did the shocks cause they were obviously bad... next were the cv axles... and i still had the shaking... mine mostly occured above 60mph... i rotated my tires and that fixed the problem... i guess one tire was not even close to being balanced... you might want to try that before spending more $$$

+1 for getting your tires balanced
ohh, and are your tires wearing evenly? I had a bad camber problem on my third gen Prelude and once the insides of the tires started wearing it would shake.

If it only shakes on accelleration, start looking at the inner axle joints, and other suspension. If it shakes more with speed then it usually is a tire/wheel balance issue.

It only does it under acceleration, I could accelerate hard and let off and it will quit once I let off. It just started doing it recently. Not too familiar with the inner axle joints, what will I be looking for?

Loosness in the inner joint. If you wiggle the axle up and down and the inner joint has any movement its probably toast.

Inner joint being the intermediate shaft? If so do you have one for my swap?

No and no. Inner joint is the inside CV joint on the axle itself.

i just put a new cv axle on the car.
are you saying that fixed it?

No it still does it after the axle, thats why I was wondering if it could be the int. shaft.

did you try swapping the tires

did you try both axles? Note: if the int shaft has ANY play in it up and down, it is bad.

you mean any play where it goes into the tranny? could a bad oil seal cause it?

mae sure int shaft is tight on the block and grab both cvs and try to move them side to side. check tires could have lost a cord inside of one of them as well make sure your ball joints/suspension is tight to

where the cv joint goes into the int. shaft there is play. Is a 90-93 integra and b16 1st gen sir int. shaft different, cause I put a 90-93 teg drivers axle in. Would I need to match up the teg int. shaft with the teg axle?
