For those of you with no experience with rota...
Bear in mind, Rota is a Philippine based manifacturer/company, items are not ALWAYS ready to be shipped, sometimes there is a large demand for particular rims, I have seen waits of 1 week and I have seen waits longer than a month. Once something is ordered from them, there is no refund available, this is part of getting such top quality rims at low prices, patience is a virtue when dealing with Rota.

they are low on those (3 sets as of the last stock sheet, almost a week old) ... CIRCUIT 8 15x65 38offset 8X100 (includes 4x100) 67.1 hub bore in Full Royal Sports Bronze, they have larger stocks off the other two bronzes.
I can do $460 on those. sorry, no can do 430 ( I have to pay sales tax on it as you are from colorado ).

Is there anywhere where it says the weight of all these rims? I know Rotas are supposed to be pretty light, but are all of them relatively lightweight?
taikahn
07-08-2005, 11:48 PM
^there are a lot of sites out there that list weights... I also have heard that wheels can weigh slightly different from casting to casting ... even wheel to wheel sometimes. (from a few to several ounces)
for a rough idea, take a look:
Rota Circuit 8 Cast 15x6.5 12.0
Rota Circuit 8 Cast 16x7 15.5
Rota Grid Racing Cast 15x6.5 14.5
Rota Grid Racing Cast 16x7 16.0
Rota Slipstream Cast 15x6.5 11.9
Rota Slipstream Cast 16x7 14.5
Rota Subzero Cast 15x6.5 12.9
Rota Subzero Cast 16x7 14.5
Rota Subzero Cast 17x7 16.5
Rota Subzero Cast 17x7.5 16.9
^the funny thing is I weighed my rota slips 16x7's and they were barely 11 lbs. ... so I dunno, I dont believe any of the weights Ive seen posted or claimed.
Do a google for more.

Actually the 15'' version of the Grids is posted up wrong on nearly every website. Its weighs 12.5 lbs on a few websites such as this one http://www.sromagazine.com/shop/productinfo10671.html.
I confirmed this when I got mine out of the box.

Sorry, but I cannot get tires mounted on the rotas.... unless you want them ordered separately from the rims ... I would recommend (because of pricing) discount tire and a set of Khumo Ecsta ASX tires.

I'll call Kim at Rota on Tuesday and see what we can figure out.
Ill ask about offsets for 17x8's rear and 17.x7.5 front.... I was looking around and the offsets I see vary from 40-50 --- so again, I will talk to them after the holiday and report back.

Cool, the reason why I need 17's is because I'm using the same tires I have now. Just in case you need it when you ask about them they are 215/45-17 on the front and 245/40-17 on the rear. The stock wheel sizes are
17x7.0 +55 offset on the front and 17x 8.5 +65 offset on the rear. Thanks for all your help.
redb20teg
01-04-2006, 08:32 PM
were you able to find anything out about this?
taikahn
01-05-2006, 12:53 PM
OK, so...
In 17" rims they only make slipstreams for the s2k.
Front: 17x7.5 -- 45 offset -- 5x114 - 73 bore
Rear: 17x8.5 --- 48 offset -- 5x114 - 73 bore
They have the front in stock ... the rear in about a month.
When they get stock they will sell out within 2 weeks.
They can do the D2s in 18 x 7.5 front and 18 x 8.5 rear -- with the same offsets. Those are also out of stock until the next shipment.
I would recommend you order them now and take the fronts and wait for the rears.... or bite the bullet, go with 18s (D2s) and wait.
Your call, hit me up. I just picked up my Rotas from Tai today, (Circuit 10 17x7.5 Bronze). I have to say that I'm extremely impressed with his service. I placed my order with him on Friday the 31st and got them 10 days later. I really needed these wheels before auto-x season started on Easter Sunday and Tai was the only dealer that could do it in time. Great price too. I honestly couldn't have possibly been any happier with the transaction. I highly recommend going through Tai for your Rota needs. Thanks again Tai! :worshippy

I wish I knew enough people to make that work. I'm sure there'd be enough people out there who would buy some Grids with an offset that'll clear 300zxTT brakes, but uh.. I don't wanna risk it.

I wonder if the +20 would work. If not I could always use a spacer I guess. I'm still trying to decide because I've heard they're pretty heavy for rotas, and I don't know about the caliper clearance (+20 is probably hurting me there vs. +25). I'll see what I can find out. I don't want to use 5zigens because they are everywhere, but I know they are lighter, and will clear the brakes. 4 lug 240sx rim choice sucks and I'm too poor for a 5 lug conversion.

I've been checking and talking with some people and can't seem to get a definate answer about anything. I can't seem to find if 300zx brakes will fit under the 17x8.5 +20 rims. I've seen SP1 and SP1R that clear the brakes, but I don't know how closely Rota duplicated their design. If you wouldn't mind asking someone at Rota (Kim or anyone) if they know for sure if 30mm 300zx brakes will fit, it would really help me decide, and if they will I will mostly likely pick up a set from you. If you could also see if they know the weight, that would be great as well.
