Hello -I have a 95 Civic EX with 140K -I want to go with synthetic oil for the next change - wanted to know if this is a wise thing to do and if so, what oil and weigh is recommended for this type of car ?

Thanks - I've been using 5/30 for a while - is this a decent summer weight oil?

Yup, I run that on both my cars. Well, 1 synth and other regular. :D

I personally wouldn't switch to synthetic at 140,000 miles, you are risking getting a new engine.

For cheap Mobil1 head to Walmart and buy one of their 5 quart containers for $20. ;)

I love the mobil 1 5 quart containers.. Been using them for years now, havn't been able to find a place cheaper, btw gotta pick up a pack of beef jerky everytime your at wallmart. It's only like 3.51$ for a huge pack! Only problem with buying oil at wallmart is that you still gotta go to a local auto parts store for the filter. I always buy the Mobil 1 or K&N filter's which will run you about 9 or 10 bucks. That is unless you wanna run Fram (eeek!)
