They need to fit around 2.5" piping including the coupler. Thanks Simon!

I've never checked... I'd imagine they'd be kinda expensive there though... no?

Cheaper than if you get it from a muffler shop.

TEC isn't answering and their answer machine is full. And if the prices of the T-bolt clamps are anything like their flanges and gaskets.... :-\

For cheap stainless T-bolts, www.partssystems.com About $2.50 each.

If you need them quick, I would check NAPA.

Don't need them quick, wow that's a great price. Can anyone help me out: what size should I get? Because the pipe is 2.5"... but then the silicon hose around it adds diameter as well. How are the sizes of the T-bolts measured?

I got mine from PFI... but Fort Collins is a bit of a drive for you.

Partssystems give the size spans of the clamps, for 2.5" OD pipe, they have 2.5"-2.81" clamps (meaning minimum diameter is 2.5 and maximum is 2.81), found here: http://partssystems.com/shop/productdetail.html?product_id=BR-TB250&c=TBOLT

Ok well the OD on the silicon coupler is 3" and this stuff is pretty strong so there isn't much flexing room. Should I get the 2.75 - 3.06" ones???

Your coupler is 1/4" thick...?

Your coupler is 1/4" thick...?

I just measured with a tape measure. From the outside of one side to the outside of the other is 3" exactly. It's the OD of the coupler.

Ok I've graduated high school and can read. :( The coupler is indeed 1/4" thick.

So then it's 1/4" thick... what is it, 28 ply? A 4 ply coupler will just barely be 1/8" thick. Just measure the wall thickness of the coupler, double that, and add it to the pipe OD. So for example, a 2.5"OD pipe plus 1/8"x2 coupler = 2.75" clamp. And go for a clamp that is pretty much centered on the OD size, e.g. 2.63''-2.94' for 2.75"

EDIT: just saw your edit. Maybe I'm just remembering wrong, what the fuck do I know? I would go for the 2.75-3.06 in that case, it will compress downa bit and I beleive that their effective diameter range is in fact smaller than the actual bolt travel, it's just the recommended range.

Don't laugh... it's just radiator hose basically. So I should go for the 3" clamp... but I think the 2.75-3" one should be ok.

Anyway, radiator hose will compress down a good amount, so the 2.75-3" should get the job done pretty well.

I've always bought mine at napa, last ones I got there were 2.75" and I got them for about $2.45 each and they had them in stock.

Really? That cheap? I could have sworn they were 6 or 7 bucks. If they are that cheap, very good to know.
