Tobi-

I installed a new A/C system in my buddy's 95 Civic EX.

He had a 134 system in it, but he took it out a long time ago blah blah blah. Long story short, the system he had for me to install was a r12 system. I got everything hooked up, and everything matches.

I obviously had to swap out the box under the dash, and the only thing that doesnt match up is the plug that plugs into the new box. The one in the car is a 3 prong, the box has a 2 prong. What does this plug do? If it is crucial to operation of the a/c can I splice on a 2 prong to make it work? Which wires would I need to use of the three to make a two work?

Thanks Tobi...

It is for the thermostat. If ut is not plugged in then the system will not cycle. The best way to fix it is to put the three wire sensor back into the new box. There is a way to wire it up so it will work but it involves running a wire from the fuse box over to that side of the dash and rewiring the compressor controls. Not an easy or fun job just for the sake of having that sensor.
