Thought I'd post this up for my fellow nerds.
I've got two of these servers a few months back but only ended up using one of them.
It's a rackmount (I have the rails as well) Compaq Proliant 3000.
-Dual 500mhz CPU
-512mb ram
-SCSI RAID controller
-7 9.1gb hotswappable drives, one is dead though but I'll give you the sled so you would just have to purchase a drive (which I can give you info on where to get them cheap).
Everything is redundant in this bitch. Two hotswap power units, hotswappable fans (four on top for the cage), drives (if you couldn't tell above) are hotswappable.
Right now it has two NIC's in it as well.
It's running a stock install of CentOS 4 (on a RAID 5 array) which I can leave on or remove, it's up to you. I can also provide you with a copy of the Compaq smartarry tools so you can configure the system.
If you are super-geeky I can also add in a remote-insight board for some more cash.
Unless you love the sound of loud ass fans or plan on turning this off all the time (what's the point of having it then?) do not buy this. This thing is also pretty heavy so I'm not going to ship it. I can meet you around the Denver area though or you can just pick it up.
Open to any reasonable offers (ideally in the $150-$200) range though.
Questions? Concerns?

I have 2 or 3 18G SCA80 hot-swappable drives that will fit the sled if whomever buys this is interested in more storage capacity.

I'll be honest, it's pretty fucking heavy. I'm a pretty small guy though (150-160lbs) and managed to man handle it from the car into my house. I'm not very good with guessing weights though so I'm not even going to try.

That picture is exactly what it looks like MINUS the tape drive though.

Forgot to mention with the compaq tools cd you can redo the RAID array and what not if you want. A lot of distros have trouble installing onto a RAID 5 array without a little force I found out. A basic RAID 1 array though is pretty foolproof as far as *nix installs go, haven't messed with any MS stuff...
