Hi my name is Brandon, and am new to this forum, just wanted to say hi. I am currently in Iraq, but will be coming back in about 6 months (getting out of the army, yay!!) and moving to the Thornton area, and just wanted to meet a few cool car people from the area. I have an '04 WRX, which is pretty modded:
IHI VF34 turbo, 565cc inj, 255 lph fp, TurboXS V2 TMIC, TurboXS Stealthback w/cat, Prodrive axleback, STi V.6 RA gearset, Vishnu up-pipe, Vishnu crank pulley, Ecutek reflash by Kingpin Performance, STi front skirts, SPT side skirts, kartboy short shifter, STi/SPT pink springs, whiteline f&r strut tower braces & blue "i" badge

The VF34, injectors, fuel pump, intercooler and gearset are all being installed while I'm out here (had my little brother in Austin-where the car is now, having parts installed at local Subie dealership) so I haven't even drove it with the new turbo installed yet, can't wait!! Should have ordered new wheels and sway bars before I come back as well. The best time I pulled on the stock turbo was a 13.36@100 at Temple Academy in Texas, as I've been stationed at Fort Hood for the last couple years. Just wanted to say what's up, I'm out.

Thanks, saw your profile, nice setup! How is the Accessport working out for you? Considered going with Cobb, but heard too many good things about Kingpin and Ecutek.

People like that usually stick around on the board longer as well. And they can usually spell too.

Thanks, time flys by pretty fast out here, I've been in the Army for almost 4 years, so 6 months is no big deal. Hey Skaterkid, how often do you usually have meets? I noticed you drive a Geo Storm, lol, that was my 1st car when I was 16, except mine wasn't turbo'd of course, I'm assuming it's a custom kit? If so, that's awesome, I'd like to check that out one day, that's got to be a total sleeper.

It's not a custom kit, the sister car of the Storm, the Impulse came in a turbo/AWD trim, the RS. I just picked all of the turbo specific parts and bolted it on. The car is quite the sleeper and will take on stock WRX's right now, hopefully better cars soon. If you want to see some pics, their here at www.cardomain.com/id/skaterkid.

We have meets once a month at a local park and there's a bunch of ones that pop up.

Yeah it is. I cleaned it yesterday and again this morning. The red intake manifold looks red now instead of burgundy. :D :D

Ugh....no. It's more of a pain in the ass to cover up all the electronics that I have out there than cleaning would do. The engine bay won't be cleaned until I take the engine out.

MirageZ31, nice man, I always liked the "bug eyes" Rexes. Saw mods in your profile, don't mean to be an ass, and I am sure you've heard this before, but ever consider getting rid of your intake? Do a search on nasioc.com sometime, they mess with our MAF readings, and often times create little to no extra power. There are plenty of tuners that can "tune around" them, but everyone I've ever known that had their car dyno'd and had an intake had an erratic A/F ratio. Intakes usually end up with us running lean and sometimes throw a CEL. If it were me, I would sell the intake and use the money to buy an up-pipe or downpipe as you'll see bigger gains and not mess with your MAF signal. Anyway, thanks for the welcome, nice car man.

Well I got and installed my downpipe last week and man do I love that! I thought of getting rid or the intake, but it hasn't gave me any problems to really get rid of it. Now I just need to get an up-pipe and some more toys :D

That's good stuff man!! The main reason I suggested getting rid of the intake is it makes us run lean sometimes... for your next mod, may I recommend engine management :) ? Out of all the "stage 2" mods I did, when I first got my ECU reflashed, it was BY FAR the most noticable!!

LeonZ
06-25-2005, 08:51 PM
Yes, ECU reglash is the best mod I hace evey done.
