After re-gapping my plugs I was able to test the car on the street. I had a 75 shot of NOS ready againtst a brand new R1. I was only able to top 3rd gear before we hit traffic. I had at least 6 car lengths on him by then!!! Fricken awsome. Unfortunatly something got hot in the engine bay and cause an electrical problem. It feels like the whole ignition system cuts out randomly now.
CAS?
ECU CAPs?

I don't think it was upgraded since the guy had temp tags. Stock R1's are in the low 10's at sea level.

so that puts a stock R1 at the low 11's here and your car does low 9's .. I assume you put 6 cars on a R1 you have to be in the 9's or lower...
good work.
never seen a DSM that fast

Actually a well driven R1 is usually in the low 12s/high 11s from the true strock ones I've seen at Bandi.

Actually... Brand new R1's pull easy 10s at this altitude with a fair rider on 'em. Think about it... Austin is a pretty damn good rider, went 11.0@130 and his R1 is a '01 (Carbed) all he's got is a pipe. Austin's bike went eleven flat with just a pipe and the '01 R1 was known to put down about 127 at the rear wheel at sea level... However the '04 R1 (Basicly same as '05) was good for 158 to the rear at sea level last year.... I'd say if Austin could go 11.0 at this altitude with 130 or so to the rear corrected... Anyone riding atleast a week or so with 158 to the rear corrected should've have to much of a problem cracking 10's up here. Just my .02, and if you're wondering where I'm pulling my info from, it's not my ass... http://www.sportrider.com/bikes/performance/
after thinking about these numbers an what not... Yes I do find it hard to believe that a DSM is this fast (9s and streetaable)... On top of that, he did say that the DSM broke in the process of the race which allows me to believe this story a bit more :D :D :D
Either way, if this is true... Absolute GREAT kill, you are offically the fastest street car I have ever heard of in this area. Congrats.

Isaisah on here ran like a 12.2 his first time out on a bone stock R6, so an R1 should be well into the 11's I would think.

honestly that isnt totally true..we were down at the streetbike shootout and there were several new (04+) R1's there that were not as fast as austin..we talked to a guy that had a 04 R1 with exhaust and filter that was running 11.0..and the guy said that he has been racing a while....there was a 04 ZX10r that was going 10.6 stock and the R1's arent near as quick in the 1/4 as the zx10 so i would say a stock 04-05 R1 with a compatent rider could go a best of maybe a 10.8 maybe....but hey anything is possible...from a roll they are a ton faster because of the whole launching a bike thing...its not easy...
