Ok, well I'm back to thinking about selling my car. My roommate is moving out due to financial reasons and I don't think I want another roommate. I'd rather just live by myself. Anyways, I've been thinking about selling my car again. I just wanted to get your guys opinions. Here are some of the reasons I'm thinking about selling it for:
1. Gets rid of big car payment
2. Ill be able to get a car thats easier/cheaper to mod
3. Ill have more money to put towards things like improving my house
4. I won't be as financially "strapped"

If I do decide to sell it, I'll have to take a hit bc I'm upside down on it right now. So that would be a con to selling the car.

I go back and forth a lot with this idea and I know I'll miss the car if I sell it but there will always be time later in life for another one. Let me know if I'm off my rocker of if this might be a good idea.

Thanks

a house is an investment... i would sell the car, fix the house and try to make money in the house... you can always get another bimmer/sports car...

That's kinda what I've been thinking. I love my car but if I can invest my money wisely right now, I'll be able to afford a better bimmer later on in life.

The smart thing would be to sell the car. Obviously you can only do this if you have the money to pay off the upside down balance. If not just keep it atleast till you arn't upside down.

What car are you planning on getting in the mean time? House is a good investment I see people make money on their houses every single day.

The worst possible thing you could do is transfer that negative balance into another loan.

Hard decision... I know it was hard to sell the S4, but I had a house and had recently got laid off... so I didn't have to much of a choice.

very hard decision bud, but I would say the house is a much better investment than any car will ever be. Economically wise I'd just sell it and work on the house. If you play your cards right and end up selling the house down the road you can easily buy a car with proceeds. Your in Castle Rock which I don't see any time going down hill land value wise and the neighborhood over there is great. Definately a very nice place to have a house and great opportunity to bump up the value of it and make some dinero

Best of luck bud in whatever path u go...

Thanks for all the opinions guys. I decided Im going to make a budget and see how much extra cash I have left over after all my bills are paid. If there is enough left over for me to live comfortably and still buy a mod for my car every 3-4 months, ill think ill just keep the car. If I ever sell my camaro, I'll be able to use some of that money and upgrade my house.

i vote that you sell the car and put the money into your house. You have to remember that cars depreciate in value, while houses appreciate it. my parents brought the value of our house from 160k to well over 300k in the few years we've lived here. then you can buy a bimmer and mod it all you want.

sell the car, invest in your house and then get a E46 later :)

only problem with selling the e36 is your going to be upside down on it. the value on them has really dropped in the past year. however if you still are contemplating about selling it, i say man up and take that initial lose. who know's how much more the e36 m3's are going to drop once the e90's start coming out, especially the v8 m3's. if you do plan on selling it thought, sell it before summer ends i guess.

best of luck either way
