Well, the car is almost done. It started for the first time in over 11 months yesterday :) We hope to have it for the most part done and driving by Tuesday, then it's off to the cage builder to get it prepped for the sport compact nat's in June. Wish me luck...sorry for the shitty pics, good ol' camera phone...

welcome back... what all have you changed?

Well, it was for the most part stock before...just intake, dp, exhaust, etc. Now pretty much everything has been modified one way or another, minus the bottom end. Still stock internals...

Last summer, I was coming home from the movie theater and a WRX was being a bit of an annoyance so I ran him, and my harmonic dampener came apart at high speed/rpms. A lot of little things needed to be fixed or replaced, so I decided to go single at the same time. Well, after finding great deals on parts I kept going bigger, and well this is how the car sits now...almost a year in the making. I can't wait to drive it!

Cool, looks like you guys made a ton of progress.

Still stock internals...

How long will those last?

karbon2001
05-29-2005, 07:29 PM
They'll last for a while as long as I don't push it too hard. I've been contemplating going for the stock block hp record, but not sure I can afford to lose my motor just yet. We'll see...

awesome man! Can't wait to see it run, maybe get a rear squatting ride too. Gotta love supras, someday I'll have one of my own, but probably not for another 5-10 years. FTR, I think the stock block with ARP studs should hold to about 800 HP. John Salmi would know better.

At around 800+ the stock block becomes a time bomb, just a matter of time before you throw a rod. BUT, there have also been many ppl that have run at that much power or more for a long time...the record on a stock bottom end is 1017rwhp...:)

Haha, man, I remember when you just had that Eclipse with the body kit, exhaust, intake and rims. Course that was a long time ago. Good luck with that beast of a car you've got now.

Hell yeah man. Nice work.

Thanks :) Hit me up if you're gonna be around this summer, I'll give you a ride.

Well, couldn't dyno today, scheduled some time for this afternoon and the only guy capable of running the dyno called in sick. So, tomorrow it is....

But, I got to here the car run for a while today. It's crazy, I love BB turbos...turn the car on, turn it off, and the wheel spins for minutes after the car's been off.

Dynoed at MAC today, set a new record :)

After getting the car running the other day, and tuning today with a bunch of little build errors, we got the following numbers:

862rwhp, 661rwtq @ 26psi (corrected of course)

I am happy, something is wrong with the boost controller, can't get more than 26psi out of it, but hey we'll get it done. I'll post the sheet once I get access to a scanner...

Special thanks to Don of course, and to Nick and Adam at MAC for staying up so fuckin' late dynoing the car....hope all your gf's forgive me Oh, and Pete too for sending me a last minute map and for all the late-night trouble shooting phone calls

could be loosing traction on the dyno... but that is just a n00b guess

Those squiggles are due to a boost issue and blowing out spark. My boost controller's solenoid may be fucked, it's oscillating under load...but, they aren't bad for the car :)

We are trying to get the issue fixed and hope to dyno at around 35psi at the end of this week.
