View Full Version : VAFC settings for boost?

i'm installing dsm 450's and need to tune for them but i don't know what settings need to be adjusted.




i have a b16 with 8psi of boost


also have a freind with 10psi of boost on a b18b



any suggestions

-38 at idle to -35 at redline on the wide throttle map, narrow map should be a little leaner, throttle points at something like 20%/50%, then GET IT TUNED.

Yea do not drive hard on that map at ALL. Just as a word of caution. It will get you from point A to B and that's it, do not use it to get hard on boost or anything like that.

why not? i plan on only using a VAFC when i go turbo until i get enough for a EMS

Because the map is pretty much a wild guess... like Weston said, you can drive on it... but seriously get it to the dyno and get it tuned as soon as possible.

It's not the VAFC that's the problem, it's the lack of tuning. These setting are just guesstimates that need to be fine tuned with the use of a wideband O2 sensor on a dyno (you need it for it's consistent load). Once it's tuned properly, the VAFC setup works great.
