what's the 70-300mm?
Those pictures are sick w/ detail. How much does one of those digital cameras run? How big are the pictures? What kind of memory stick do you use?

70-300mm is my Sigma lens http://www.niceelectronics.com/digital/discr84757.htm
The camera itself with no lens goes for around 600-700 bucks. Digial Rebels are pretty cool entry level SLRs but they aren't great for just point-and-shoot purposes. The pictures are 3072X2048. THe memory card I use is a 1gb compact flash.
here are a few more shots: http://imageevent.com/leonz/garlandpark

are the pretty quick exposures? It would be great to take a quick 'snap' picture and capture that kinda detail lke in your pics w/out worrying about having a high megapixel camera but that has shitty exposure time where most of your pics just end up ghostly or totally ruined from the exposure not being quck enough. I have problems w/ ISO 400 on my camera.

I used aperture priority on close-up with f/5.6 most of the time, zoom at 300mm. On the action shots, I was using the continuous focus - shutter speeds ranged between 1/300th of a second to 1/1200th. It wasn't a very bright day but I got decent amount of light because this lens loves tons of light at 200+mm. 100ISO on all of the shots. Yes, lots of megapixels does not equal to good quality.

No thanks. My cousin is crazy about airline photography, he's been taking pictures of planes for like 10 years, it's not that exciting.
