My friend/coworker got into an accident on her way to work tonight... she has a restricted license, and ended up rear ending an SUV during rush hour... her fault. How will this affect her license???

Assuming she got a ticket for the accident, the red license will be revoked completely.

Well, she was at-fault... so I assume she got some sorta ticket (what kinda ticket would that be anyways?). How long to expect her license to be gone... is it worth a lawyer and court and such?

It would most likely a careless driving ticket, unless they found a better cause of the accident such as following too closely, speeding, improper lane change, etc. The red license will be revoked and she may have to wait even longer to get a regular license again... that's up to the DMV. A lawyer isn't going to change the fact that she screwed up and got caught, nor will it get her any mercy from a judge or the DMV.

Yes, they will take her red license. Depending on the situation they will sometimes reinstate it and make it for a even longer period of time. I asked about this on my last restricted license. She will have to go in for another hearing.

Like the dumbass I posted about that hit me while his license was suspended...just go ahead and tell her to keep driving around, drop her insurance, and hit people every now and then for good measure. This state doesnt really do anything to people that do such things..she'll prolly get a slap on the hand.

Yeah, lawyers don't change anything unless it's for criminal charges, and even then you need to have something to go on, or they will tell you to just "take your medicine and deal with it." They don't tend to budge much on traffic unless they were going to anyway. Usually it's take what the DA offers you, or you're screwed.

She is faaaaar from a bitch, lol. The reason for her red license was retarded...
Thanks guys. She's supposed to get her regular license back in July... and her court date for this is August. Any hope you think?

None. If she received a ticket because of this accident(sounds like she did), law requires an automatic one year extension on the suspension.
She might have her license between July and August, but in August it will probably get revoked for another year. Thought it might take a few months for the paperwork to catch up, but basically, if convicted she faced one more year of suspension.
