My car has a feature where you have to enter a code before the car will start even if you have the key.

compare to civics
they don't steal bimmers much

They need to tow the baby in order to steal it...
otherwise it takes way long for them to get to the ignitions on bimmer

I think bimmers are so much safer from thieves than civics... seriously
when i had 325i I wasn't scared of thieves but after having Si.. oh man
I am dead scared

Agreed. Thats the one of the good things about bimmers. Sorry to hear about the civic. When i had my integra i got nervous leaving it anywhere.

the down point to that arguement is that the parts from the e36 are so easy to steal. granted they might not take the whole car, but it's not unheard of, especially people with m3's to come out and see their moldings, mirrors, kidney grills, corner lights, fog lights, side skirts, front/rear bumpers, badges and wheels stolen. not to mention if they get into the car, what they would take

I got a $0 deduct for comprehensive which includes theft. If they steal my wheels i get brand new ones for free. :)

Did this happen in Boulder? What part? What did you have in terms of security?

I get really paranoid about my eg. I have tons of security, but after having one car stolen, I'm relieved every time I come back to my car and it's still there.

I work 7 miles away from boulder. Sorry to hear about the loss. At least you don't have to spend 300 bucks on fixing your window like I do now.

No clue. Doesn't seem like it, nobody around my area would need my car. I went to roll down my pass window, roll it back up and it only came halfway. Took off the door panel, proceeded to mess up my tint, then I took it to Tobi. The regulator and everything that has to do with the window is shot. So once I fix the up/down function of the window, I get to see who wants to fix my tint.

It's got a nice lojack system on it now...

my buddy's teg also got stolen, its at the impound right now. evidently they took the engine though. he said it sucks getting that call because now he knows for sure it was stolen. earlier he believed there was a chance that it was just towed or something.
