What kind of gas mileage do you WRX (non-STi) guys get up here at altitude? Its time for a new car and this + insurance might keep me out of a WRX.

Thanks,
Andy

I know my roomate got 31 mpg on his trip to Vegas on his regular WRX, it had just a turboback exhaust.
Nobody online believed that he got that good of milage.

He averaged 25 in town.

With my STi (TBE, 50 trim [green style turbo], 720cc injectors, ecutek) I have been averaging 24-26mpg on my commute from Ft. Collins to Longmont the past few months. If I get on it quite a bit it will go down to high teens range. Made 395whp corrected at MAC; 325whp uncorrected.

With a WRX I would imagine you could get in the 30s although with my old 02 WRX the highest I ever got (STG4+ modified level) was about 28-29mpg.

Thanks for the replies guys. I think I'm sticking with Saabs due to insurance, and the ones I am considering are faster stock. This next car can't have a long mod list. I put too much time and effort into tuning the last one.

You could get the Saabaru wagon and have the best of both worlds.

Don't even get me started on that thing.

I asked a Saab dealer about those and he said they are not selling at all. Saab guys don't want Subarus and Subaru guys don't want a Saab :D

They are selling very well in California.

I would like a Subaru that is as fast as an STi and feels like a Saab inside. They just didn't make the interior nice enough to attract Saab buyers, and though the exterior looks better than the WRX, it still looks like the WRX.

Just wait till you see the new "Saab" SUV. A re-badged Trailblazer. Bob Lutz can eat a salad of my ass, garnished with some pubes.

Hopefully help will arrive for Saab with the staffing changes at GM. The 9-2X and 9-7X are total bullshit.

Saabaru....it looks the same on the inside and outside as the impreaza
