newb, question.
what does that actually do?

It increases shifting "speeds" by neutralizing engine movement ... helps with drag launches, can reduce vibrations from motor mounts when tightened correctly, etc.
Benefits
Greatly improved off-the-line acceleration
Reduced wheel hop
Improved vehicle stability
Reduced shock loads on driveline components
Smoother shifting
Reduced wear on exhaust system joints
Less vibration transmission to the driver compared to polyurethane motor mounts.
Less shock load, compared to torque straps and chains.
Drifting – helps reduce shock loads when wheels gain traction.
Reduces motor movement – decreases the chance of motor parts rubbing against
the hood and frame.

It's basically a shock absorber for the engine... it keeps the engine from flopping around, so more power is transmitted to the ground and wheel hop is greatly reduced. The Ingalls product also has adjustable stiffness, so you can easily choose how soft or stiff you want it... You can set it soft to eliminate vibrations on the street, then go to the track and turn it up for even more performance.
Only works for 96-00? Sotck motors?

Ingalls just put one on my car today. the thing is freaking amazing. i have a 94 with a b16a, but since my motor mounts are shot (D'OH) they had to custom fit it. really nice guys though, i totally recommend it. i used to wheel hop before, and now its just smooth burn out. i love it.

I have the Integra prototype and this thing is amazing... I used to have a lot of engine movement, even just when revving it at idle. Now the engine simply doesn't move, and even with the damper at full stiff, I don't notice any more vibrations than what I already had from my motor mount inserts (which wasn't much at all). I used to be plagued with wheel hop... now I'll try to get it to hop, but what I get is very very mild and it can't even be called "wheel hop". I had much worse hop when the car was stock... now I have more than twice the torque and basically no wheel hop. I also used to have a problem with breaking traction and hopping when I gave it more than a little throttle around a turn in 1st gear... now that's eliminated and I just accelerate. I can definately make better use of my LSD now. I'm very pleased. This damper is amazing, and Ingalls puts a lot of work into their quality. :)
Don't get me wrong... it can't magically give you traction where it doesn't exist, nothing can do that. It just plays a big part in preventing you from throwing away the traction that you do have, and it makes it more controllable. Launches are a lot more efficient and less violent now, and traction for acceleration while turning is improved too. It makes FWD a lot more fun than it once was.
was your car the one that was in there today weston?

Yup, the white turbo Integra.
damn your car is nice. i sat there looking at it for a solid 15 minutes while the guys were making my custom bracket. how much boost are you running? i saw that you didnt have a boost controller hooked up to the wastegate, but you always could have put in a stiffer spring, either way, your car is definately inspiration.

I'm running 9 psi... I do have a boost controller, but I'm just not utilizing the top port of the wastegate (can't find a hose barb that will screw onto the threads of the boost controller valve).
