I'm living @ La Junta, CO, drive a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GT, and a 1985 Mazda RX-7 GS (which is running, but not moving, LOL).

No major mods have been done to either of my cars, just oil changes, filter upgrades, etc. The 7 will be converted to a 6 or 8 cylinder, cuz the rotary is just too hard to find parts for, or work on, lol.

Welcome. What kind of 6 or 8 motor were you thinking of dropping in the RX?

I dunno just yet, I'm liking the 3.0 in the Spyder, nice and powerful for the weight, and I really don't want to weigh down the front of the 7 too bad. As it is, the 7's weight is 50/50, and I fear any piston engine will make it at least 70/30, which would suck for handling. There for awhile, I was gonna put in a 20B 3 rotor, but that'll cost way too much.

I say you should do a 3s-gte or a sr20det. good, low-mainteince power without too much of a comprimise.

I say go with a turbo II rotary from a 2nd gen.

If you're liking that 3 liter, get yourself a REAL 6G72 DOHC out of a 3000GT/Stealth, none of this pussy SOHC shit ;) . If you're feeling extra saucy, get a turbo one. The trany will be quite a bitch to figure out, however, since it's a FWD based drivetrain stock. You would most likely need to have a custom bellhousing adapter cut. Probably not worth the work. Also it's certainly not a light engine, ye olde tyme cast iron construction, and if you're that worried about weight distribution it will only disappoint. Hell, the bare block is about 140 pounds.
