my buddy is possibly going to sell me his 1991 talon tsi awd for 1700. It's an automatic and has 146,000 miles on it. It definently needs some work to it, but mechaniclly it runs well. My question is, do you guys think I should go for it? Also, he removed the old 3 piece wrap around spoiler that came stock with the car and he threw the pieces away but I perfer the look of the stock spoiler compared to any aftermarket ones, so would any 3 piece spoiler I buy from a eclipse/talon/laser fit onto this one? and does anybody by chance know the oem part # of the spoiler or can direct me where to find one?

You can get a 1G manual TSi AWD for about the same, don't bother with the auto. Obviously it would be a little beat up, but it sounds like this auto is as well.

yeah it would be a good daily driver, but nothing else. also you can make any of the stock spoilers fit, i bought my laser with a talon spoiler on it.

I have a 1G ATX AWD here, it's a bit anemic. It's in beautiful shape, but unlike it's MTX counterparts it doesn't kick you in the taint when stomp the gas. I suppose as a daily driver it would be OK, but I fucking hate atuos...

Wait for a manual, worth the wait.

the auto is just fine with the stock turbo. If you want to upgrade it , you'll have turbo lag from hell until it spools. overall, fun car no matter which way you go.
as for the spoiler, ask WHTEVO, he'd probably know.

The only reason for getting an auto is because you can't drive stick :-/ it's easy to learn and in the long run for performance cars will tear up an automatic
