View Full Version : Me vs IS300 (5 speed)

It was about 4:30 yesterday and i was driving to my friends house. Get stopped at a light and i see an IS300 change lanes and fly up on my ass. Light changes and i take off kind of slow to see if he really wants to go. He takes off and goes around me. I move lanes to get next to him and catch up to him. I get next to him and he takes off again, so i downshift into 2nd (about 45mph). I catch up to him by the end of second and shift into third and pull hard on him(about 3 CL's). He tried about 3 more times and it was the same result each time. Unfortunately, We never got a run from a stop so i didnt get a chance to practice launching the ///M. :cool: I stopped and talked to him after and he was pretty cool. It was an '04 5 speed, stock. I felt bad for picking on him but i had to. He is in high school and drives a car like that. He said it was going to be turbo soon too. Damn spoiled kids. O ya, he said he tried to race an S4 on the highway earlier that day too. :rofl: He said it worked him. When will kids these days learn what kind of cars they can race and what cars they should just stay away from?
Anyways, I was excited. Its my first race since i got my car.

S4s are pretty much in my dept unless they go dual K04 turdblows.

S4s are pretty much in my dept unless they go dual K04 turdblows.
At sea level my car is dead even with an S4, but here at altitude its a different story. :(
I can still out-handle them tho. :)

nice run dave. you ever decided on the m50 manifold? that plus the 3.5 euro hfm and upgraded injectors should go nicely and come in handy when you boost your ///M

Im going to go with rims, suspension, stereo and HID's first. I want it to handle better and be a nice car to ride before i go with more go-fast goodies. Plus, it doesnt look like im going to be able to boost it for a while. After those mods, im going to get the shark injector, m50 mani, track pipe, SSK, and new gears in the rear. That should get me going for now.

have you done the fan delete yet or plan on pulleys? 3.5'' intake, 3.5 euro hfm, bigger injectors and plus software, and stock e46 m3's should be no problem for you.
what kind of stereo upgrade? i like the jl stealth box for the 3 series, and that's a step i would definately be taking if i stay with bmw.

I want to do the in dash dvd with navigation but ill problem just get a nice alpine for now. Do you still want to help me on the fan delete? I need to do that soon. I want to do the euro hfm and all that stuff also. I also want to do a lightweight flywheel and racing clutch.
I dont want a huge stereo. My last BMW had a huge system and it got annoying. I just want one maybe two 10" subs. Something to give it a little bit more bass and a "full" sound.

No he was skinny. Maybe 130 lbs
I used to beat IS300's in my GSR. That kid is in for a long list of disappointments. lol
