Hey all,

It's been a while but I thought I would drop by and say hello.

Traded in the WRX this week and got an 05 RX-8 Shinka. I'd have to say I'm pretty damn happy with it (at least until I make the first payment).

How's everyone doing?

wait, you traded a wrx for an RX8? I know the RX8 is a lot sexier of a car looks wise, but engine wise the rx8 is fooking slooooooowww.

There were a lot of reasons behind the trade. Yes, it's definitely not as fast although I'm not that dissapointed at all. The Renesis actually puts out some good pull. When the 8's first came out I liked them, but not enough to get one because of the power issue, but the Shinka really sealed the deal for me. It's 10X more smooth and comfortable of a ride than the WRX and since I never go to the track anymore the power issue kind of fell back. Plus they gave me more than I expected for my WRX and I got the 8 at dealer cost because of employee discount, so I got a hell of a deal. With it being limited production and only 2150 made there is a lot more of a chance of it retaining value as well whereas the WRX was constantly going down. And as far as the speed issue if I really want to the 8 has a lot of potential if I were to put some money into upgrades.

Plus, it's just a sexy damn car :p I LOVE the black cherry paint on it and the interior is amazing.

And Leon, I said hi to you, I am just not an overly social person at work. I'm usually depressed that I am there. :p

How fast are those things up here. A kid wanted to race me one night in one of those. I asked him if he had anything done and he said yes and that i didnt need to know what he had done. I didnt race him tho bc there was no where safe to race.

Like 16's. That's what I've seen the stock ones run at Bandi, some modded ones have run mid 15's.

16? they feel slower than that. A stock 2.0 golf feels faster to me.

if you think a stock 2.0 golf is faster then ur retarded. they're not that much lighter then rx-8's, and the 2.0 only has 115 hp. its probably about as fast as my celica. the new GTI with the turbo 2 liter would be close, but i think still slower

If i was looking for a daily driver sports car i'd probably go with an RX-8 too, good choice guy
