rattlling sound at 3000rpm

My 97 Integra GSR make a rattling sound at about 2800rpm-3100rpm. It sound weird like a grindding sound (blender) and it doesn't matter when I'm in gear or not, but at that rpm it does that. Any Idea?

check your heat sheids. i dont think its tho because my 95 gsr did it also. the header was cracked on the inside and rattled at 3-4k look on honda-tech and tons of other people also have this problem.

Prelude's had this problem too, was called the 2000rpm exhaust rattle.

I had a small hole in my resonator which caused the exhaust to rattle

Mine is the heatshield on the cat... nothing a test pipe won't fix :-).

run an open exhaust, that should fix it.

Yeah, I check to find where the sound is comming from and it is definatelyfrom the heatshield on the CAT. and when my friend press on the gas and stay at 3000rpm, the CAT started to rattle.
