I'm currently speaking with Al from Dynoflash about coming out to Colorado for a tuning session for our specific high altitude needs. There has been no talk of a specific date yet, however it seem's that dyno tuning will likely take place at MAC Autosport.
Below are some examples of what Al charges on his custom trips. (*Note, these are prices were advertised by Dynoflash for a trip to another location)
EVO Tuning:
Dyno Flash - new customer 2 full hours road tune $399
Dyno Flash - retune for current customer - 2 hours road tune $299
Dyno Flash - base tune $175
Ecutek Evo 8 Flash - custom tuned 2 hours $650 - includes lisense fee
* Note - tuning for alcohol or race gas is included for free in the above tuning sessions.
Subaru Tuning:
Has not yet been discussed, but he is an authorized ECUTek retailer and I will work with him to make this a Mitsu/Subaru dyno day. Prices for Subaru tuning options will come shortly.
------
I'd like to hear from you guys that are interested in having a some work done on your tune. Al has experience with pretty much all the commonly available engine management solutions, such as: S-AFC, UTEC, AEM, Autronic, ect. In order to get accurate quotes for everyone, a PM or a reply here with your car, engine management setup and brief list of modifications.
I'd like to set this up for Mid-Late March timeframe. Let's here who's interested.
For those curious minds, I'll be there having an Alky Injection tuned on my GT3076R setup with the stock ECU (For backup purposes).

I only have a stock EVO, how much extra horse power is possible with just tuning? Whats the lowest and highest numbers seen when tuning the factory ECU?

I'll get a response directly from Al, and get back with you. From charts that I have seen it has made a pretty substantial increase (for tuning alone). However with a simple MBC you'll be... Impressed.

Will I have to buy anything? I have heard from others that many tuners require you to buy a UTEC to tune.
Can they flash the factory ECU?

Yes! That is his specialty. He's reflashed over 1000 Evo's to date. With a mildly modified car he'll be able to extract all the power you can get from your parts combo that a user tuneable setup (UTEC/SAFC/ect) would get while maintaining a similar saftey margin.
To give you an idea of the potential of the flash, I had a mai-in version of his flash, 3" turbo back exhaust, Intake and a MBC. Ran a 12.86@105.5 at Bandimere.
The mail-in flash is a de-tuned calibration to help offset the different quality fuels used throughout the nation as well as any car-to-car variance that may be present. All in all, the custom flash will give your car and it's setup an exact tune for the conditions in which you drive in, as well as the fuel you use.

Well, I'm down...I have a couple of grand to spend on the car in the next 2 weeks...My clutch took a shit on me tonight. So, any recommendations on what I should buy to get into the 12's? I was thinking
$1100 for Exedy single plate clutch
$300 Install (Anybody here install these?)
Boost controller
Exhaust?]
Reflash ECU?
Intake?
Utec?
Fuel pump?
Whats the order I should upgrade? Looking to keep the car reliable as possible but still high 12's...how much is it going to cost me...Im stock now.

Glad your down for the tune.
$1100 for a single plate Exedy Hyper is insane. I can probably get you one for $175 cheaper. I can also install them, but I won't be back in town until the 4th of March. I'll be installing an ACT in my EVO at that time as well. I'd do it for $300.
Personally for your goal of high 12's I'd stick with an ACT. I plan on running mid 11's and I'll be using the ACT.
Again, for your goal of high 12's I'd suggest the following:
MBC: Hallman Pro, $100 however any decent MBC will suffice.
Exhaust: Everyone has their preferences here, I've had awesome results with Buschur Racing's exhaust. I believe it was TPR or Turbo mag who did a shootout on Evolution exhausts and Buschur's produced the most power and was lighter than all but the titanium system they tested. I believe the full turbo back is 24#'s.
Intake: Not critical, but there are small gains to be had. If your definately going to stick with the stock turbo, the HKS RS system is probably the best design, however I'd suggest getting Helix's knock off pipe and use some other filter besides the foam. I used the filter Buschur offers.
Fuel Pump: Highly suggested. There's been quite a few problems with the pumps being over worked and failing. I did mine at an early state. Easy swap...
And obviously the reflash. This will be the key to getting you good times. The part's alone won't get you there. So...
Turbo-Back Exhaust: ~$1000 depending on what you decide to go with.
MBC: Hallman Pro $100
Intake: $80-300, Buschur-HKS
Fuel Pump: $90, Walbro 255lph high pressure
Reflash: $399, custom tune
Good for 12.7 with a good driver, maybe a tad quicker if you're really good.
Forgot to mention. ACT clutch woulud run you about $500 delivered

I have run the cerametallic Hyper Single and wasn't pleased. It would make a great clutch for road racing, but street and strip performance are horrible with it's on/off performance. It also wore out in about 10K miles. I am using their performance organic clutch now and love it even after 20K miles.

Just DSM, thanks for the info....I just picked up a Utec and and a pillar with a boost gauge and air to fuel gauge. Was planning on picking up the Blitz SPCID boost controller. Your probably right about needing to buy a fuel pump...any recommendations? Email me when you get into town as I may want to wait for you to come into town to do the clutch. I have been getting prices with Denver Motorsports, Jacks Perfomance shop, and Bob with the 11.6 Galant. We will see whats up.

How long have you had your evo?? And what part of LITTLETON do you live ? And what color is it???

Alright.. I've got another who's expressed a commitment (silverc?). He's also going to pass the word along to a couple of his friends who'm also have stated interest in the past. As of now it looks as if we've got the required number of individuals participating that Al, needs to make it.
What I'd like to do now is get an idea of when you guys would be able to attend within the following:
15-25 March
For those that are able to participate in that timeframe it's expected that there will be a $75 deposit to reserve your tuning slot. This will ensure you are alloted the two hour tuning session.
As I mentioned previously, the first three individuals who make their deposits will recieve three runs on MAC's AWD dynojet at MY PERSONAL EXPENSE!
I'll make an annoucement here when everything is in place and ready for deposits.
Any questions?

Dates are still in the air, however expect sometime between the 15th and the 25th of March. Hope to see you guys there!!!
I also encourage you to view this: http://forums.evolutionm.net/showthread.php?goto=newpost&t=124840
Al (Dynoflash) should be getting back with me shortly about the specifics of the trip and that information will be posted there.
