B16 coupe vs B18c1 Hatch

so, i had just got my car, a 94 coupe with a b16, like less than a week ago, and im driving home from a friends basketball game when i see a an eg hatch pull on to the highway and rip into the gears. so i decide to give chase a little bit. well, i pull up beside him and blurp the throltlle a little bit and when he doesnt seem interested i just go by and pull into the right lane a bit ahead of him. about a minute later he pulls up beside me, blups the throttle and then drops it into third and goes balls out past me. since im still new to this car, i try to keep up with him, but he jumped me pretty good.
he then takes the exit i was going to take, so the first red light we come to i pull up next to him. both cars are revved up and ready to go. the light turns and i hit the gas, i launch from a bout 3500 rpm, mainly caus my tires suck. i get the whole shot on him, but only manage to pull about 5-8 feet on him. we both spin our tires going into second gear and i jump a little more.
well, the light ahead is red, so i let off and we both come to a stop. i ask him what he is running and when he tells me a B18c1, i was amazed. i thought for sure a b18 would pull a b16, the hatches are even lighter than the coupes. anyways, i have to head home, so i give him the thumbs up and pull off towards my house.
anybody on here own a black 5th gen Hatch that raced me? awesome guy whoever he was it was a great race.

He must suck at teh driving. The 18 has more torque than the 16 and his hatch is lighter than your coupe.

thanks, he didnt seem bad at driving, maybe he just underestimated what i had, probably thought i was some ricer with an exhaust

I ran a black EG hatch a couple weeks ago or so. Total Sleeper, lowered on two diff color stealies, stock all the way around, kinda beat paint and speedimage stickers. (Probably his beater) It was at hwy 36 getting on 287 north bound. I had no idea he wanted to go, light was red, turned green, he punches it on the outside lane so I'm like OK! I punch it with him thinking he is going to pass me, his shit starts to rap up, so does mine, and he never passed me, I was pretty impressed being I have two extra doors and a trunk. We hit the next light too, were both ready to go again. Light turns green we both take off, same situation, I hear his engine rap up into Vtec thinking he is going to pass me but he doesn't, I might have pulled on him a very little bit, I power shift into 2nd as does he, but he miss shifts and I hit it right on pulling 2-3 cars then shutting it down, not a good place to race nor is there any point for me to keep going. What does he do even tho I obviously shut it down???? Yep you guessed it! RICER FLY BY! LMAO! Pointless but whatevAr!

maybe he lied!...i raced a guy in a 240sx(dumbass) who i told i had a 1.3 lexus inline 5 and he belived me...so think about it pal

I have a b18c1 eg hatch and I have never had a problem with a b16 anything, but they are always good races. btw mine is green.

My car is quick, but I am pretty damn sure a b18c1 would whoop on it unless the b18 was in a heavier car.

Also, there's a lot of misconceptions on weight. The lowest-class 92-95 4-door weighs less than the 92-95 Si hatch.
