Oh come on, we don't have any NOS lovers on this board. Well we'll just have to fix that. Start posting your opinions on nitrous. Every board needs Bottle Boys.

I used to run nitrous until I grenaded my motor. After rebuilding I just put a bigger turbo on the car and that does enough for me. :)

Perhaps next year, if I want to really compete, I'll put a small shot on along with a slightly larger turbocharger.

Nitrous is cool (literally :D ), if done right. I didn't do it right...

What car are you running?

I use a 50 shot for a little fun every once in a while. Other than that I usually keep it all motor.

Hey, did you ever race Brian on the bottle? I remember you had that poll going. So what happened?

I love nitrous! hehe.
it's been a while since I was using it, but a few years ago when i had it, oh man, I couldn't stop using it.
we just put a dry 75 shot on my buddies ride, but he's already stepping up to a direct port setup in the weeks to come, should be fun!

heh..said EXACTLY the same thing when this guy online was trying to sell me one. It sounds fun..and a cheap hp gain..but I'd need to be fully 'sold' on it first

Well If SHO was working I'd say go check out the NOS forum, becuase there is lots of good info archived in there regarding NOS. One of the guys there had a, I think it was 11 second stock block Integra GSR in San Diego running a 125 shot either direct port or plate kit. Anyways, if you understand the chemical theories and concepts behind nitrous oxide and the burning flame in your cylinders, then it's pretty easy to grasp. Someone with a good nitrous setup can make the lauging gas go far efficiently and effectively. And for those of you with I-6s, V-6s or V-8s, you can put more N2O through your cylinders than those of us with 4-bangers, provided you don't have any other sort of FI. Adding a SC or Turbo and then N2O can be a very dangerous proposition if it's not tuned right and if your block can't handle all the added pressure. For instance, without my SC, I'd probably run a 75 shot, but with my SC, I'd probably run a 25 shot or so.

Think about it. It's the best form of forced induction. It is intant power and consistant unlike a turbo and it drains absolutely no power form the engine like a supercharger. It is definitely a viable option for adding power.

exciv2000 what is that guys name on SHO. SDstreetracer or something with that teg your talking about. "In NOS we trust"
That guys an ass, but he knows his shit and his car is fast!

Im a recovering addict. I ran the stuff for a year on my GSR powered civic. 90 shot was good enough to get me a 13 second time slip. and a burned clutch and an accelerated heart rate.:D
Maybe ill go back to the speed juice this year with project civic.

NOS is so addicting. I have riden in a lot of car with it.

Don't know if i really want to install it on the S2000. Maybe the 86 lude. :)

Yeah, SDStreetRacer. I have to totally 100% agree with your recollection of him, hehehe. But your right, he does know his shit, and his car was fast. He'd be a high 12 to high 13 timeslip up here in CO, but that's still balls to the walls excitement for a stock block integra with I/H/E and maybe some other mods for a grand total of less than $1500 for everything. I wouldn't want to race him, I'd get my ass handed to me :D

Oh and dude, what the hell you selling your car for?! :Peace:

I have a 50/75/100 shot in the talon. Tried to use it last year at IDRC and it was not working too well. I have yet to feel a 100shot with 25psi of boost :). Guess I'd better buy a 2nd 10lbs bottle :D

FWIW, when the nitrous is flowing it feels like a turbocharger kicking in. In my case, it was like a 3rd turbo. Pretty fun. :)

If you do a kit, please please please use a window switch...

Is your bottle getting warmed up enough? If not, get a bottle warmer and/or a bottle blanket. It should be between 900 and 1100 PSI when you spray... also make sure it's full. I assume you already knew this but just making sure :)

I might not be selling it now. My buddy is parting of his hardly used crower rods and JE pistons. I just can't decide if it is worth keeping. On one hand I want something more comfortable for all the driving I do ie 3.2TL and a bike to play with. On the other hand I have a 4dr GS Teg I could use day to day and with the new rods and pistons I could reach low 11's, possibly even 10's.

Going to run a low (55) shot on the S2000. Using a Zex kit with bottle opener and purge valve. It will also be hooked up to a RPM Shift module with a window switch (similar to the MSD one but with more features.)

I thought about Nitrous... i never considered it... ive been in cars with it too.. Hell i woudl love to have nitrous but i dont trust my self with it and the button... Ill have blisters on my finger because of pressing the button every time i sit in the car. Its so damn cheap, so appleaing... but not for me. i just dont trust my self... plus i like turbo/SC better... i feel more comfortable/relaxed with turbo or SC.

When he said 25 psi he was refering to his boost presure!

I'm not into nitrous,it just increases the chances of hurting something plus I don't like renting my horsepower and it's irrelevant to bracket racing.

Now if you're doing some serious heads up racing then I could see the need for it.

eh, it's fun on the street sometimes... and I guess I kinda agree with the bracket racingthing, I participated in a few events last year, except that it can get you into a faster class and it's more of a challenge (like I needed it).

LoL... I got this stupid idea... Eh... It might of been Pang or Bryan that put it in my head but now it still sounds like fun and I still pretty much do plan on doing it still but I was goin' to get a new B16A motor for my civ soon anyways so I figured just for the hell of it, I was goin' to strap a 75 or so shot to the lil VX motor that I'm runnin now for HS drags or whatnot... I mean I think this VX motor would be worth nothing more than a big paper weight to me if I wanted to save it after the B16 swap so why don't I make it real fun gettin' rid of it right :-D... I think what I'll really do is like start with a 45 shot and if that don't blow it, then a 55 then a 75 and if for some odd reason the engine still hasn't blown, then I'll shoot a 100 shot and that's got to be gaurnteed to blow shit all over the place ehh..... I can't wait :D
