This is for ANYONE who's done an auto to manual swap on a Honda.

I know of the place in the firewall that the clutch assy was meant for from the factory. There's a plate covering the hole clearly marked, along with the two bolts (my app) that actually hold the assy to the firewall. For my app the hydro line runs through the firewall....but that's it.

My question for those who've done this is.....what'd you use to get through the firewall without fu*#'n shit up too bad?

I was thinking a pilot hole....then a hole saw attached to an angled drill. Maybe a fine metal bit?

Any help is appreciated.

*Don't give me any of that "sell it & get a manual" isht....cause I've already looked....and what I've seen makes my car look like it's show-room quality!*

I dont know what Honda you own that the line goes through the firewall. But I have never seen one.

I test drove a 96 5spd the other day cause I was seriously pondering selling mine to purchase a 5spd. After the test drive....even though the car was a P.O.S.! I decided to check it out.

I was looking at the firewall under the dash....where the clutch assy is bolted up. The only thing that actually went through the firewall was the line that runs to the clutch MC. That's the line I was talking about.

Its not a line, its the pushrod from the pedal to the master. The fluid lines all stay out under the hood. There is no need to drill anything.

My description skillz suxxor!

When I look under the dash of my own Accord (auto)....there's a plate covering the clutch assy hole. It's not completely solid either. It's clearly marked...so I was wondering if that hole has to be either A: punched out or B: drilled out.

On the test car, I popped the hood to find the fluid res wasn't bolted to the firewall. It had it's own bracket, which was bolted not too far from the shock tower. There was a line that led to the firewall....and I could have sworn that it went through it to the push-rod on the clutch assy. Then again....I could be stupid! HaHa!

That plate is bolted in. Undo the bolts and the plate will come off. The line from the res goes to the master, then there is a steel line that goes from the master over to the trans.

why's that weird?
what you are seeing is just a cover...like ghandi said, just unbolt the thing and the plate will come right off
the master cyl will sit where that cover is now and the pushrod will come through the firewall
when you put the pedals in, you will see where its supposed to hook to
