hello to all, just to introduce myself, name's Clayton, i live in Augusta GA right now. i'm a SGT in the US Army, i have recieved orders to move to CO Springs sometime late July, early August. I'm just trying to get involved in the scene and see what it's like half way around the country. i'm actively involved here in Augusta. Currently i drive a 95 Integra GSR w/ a 99 b18c1 swap, jdm front end, custom mr2 spyder tail lights, custom welded side air dams, standard bolt ons(intake, i/manifold, no exhaust manifold though, etc.). been kinda slacking recently, so i think here soon i'ma redo my suspension and go ahead and invest in one of those crazy short shifters, with some stiffer bushings, and some other minor cosmetic goodies. I've been thinking of going FI so i haven't put way too much in the car engine wise, didn't want to pay for something i'd end up selling anyways...i like all types of cars but generally honda's are my fav. call me a ricer or whatever you want....just my opinion, but i get down with a few guys around here and help them with their cars....srt4s, 240s, mr2s, a few stangs and cameros, a few si's, we also have alot of ppl around here with cj4s and the like for all you jeep fans....but anywho....hope to see ya'll on the board and if you got any advice for me coming to CO i'd appreciate it, i'm not too sure what i'll need to do to prepare my car for the change in location and if anyone is from CO Springs hit me up and let me know what it's like...aiight later....

Welcome to the site. Headed to Ft. Carson? I'm ADAF stationed out at Peterson AFB bout 20 mins North of the Ft. & I live in Fountain. Fountain is about 5mins from the Fort. As far as moving to the Springs the Altitude will kill some of your performance. Notthing you really can do for that. Anyhow hit me up and we'll get to together.

Welcome. I live in Castle Rock which is about 20 mins away from Colorado Springs. Prepare yourself to have a much slower car. The altitude really kills your power up here. Your definitely going to want to go FI. Hope to see you at some meets this summer.

nah accually i'm a 25S20 and i'm going 1C(ASI training) so i'll be at Schriever AFB in HHC 1st SATCON BTN. alot of my friends that are there told me to look for a house in Fountain, they said it's a REALLY nice area and pretty close to peterson(i'll be doing PT there) and Schriever. me and the wife are gonna prob take a trip out there before we move so we can look at houses and stuff. as far as alarm....got one, and it's picky as crap...the wind blows too hard and it goes off.....i've got all the stuff for a fuel kill switch just need a good weekend to do alot to my car....i feel like a bad father i've been neglecting her....;( so i'm gonna drop performance like that huh? i should've known since the thinner air....well that pretty much deciedes it for me....if my car can't get enough air.....i'll force air into it.. :8 is there any strips close by? i got one here in augusta that's really close...i figured there would be some decent muddin holes but ain't too sure about drag strips....

Whatever your times are in Georgia, make them a second slower and thats what you will run here in CO.

There are plenty of tracks and strips here. Fountain is growing. Try to get near the Mesa Ridge/Hieghts area. That's where all the building is going. Give me a holla if you need any help moving or when you get here.

You gotta pay 10 bucks to get an avatar. And yes, FI is the only way to get decent times up here.

any local car clubs, forums, hang outs, etc? i know here in Augusta there are some clubs but we all are so closely related that it's more like one BIG club....and two shops in particular do alot of the sponsoring and organizing for the local car enthusiasts to get together...like drive ins, inpromptu car shows, bbq's, shop days, etc.

Sep.
Like what's his name said. Head for Fountain, and check out the new areas. AVOID New Generation homes. They build SHIT!
Oh yeah...I live in the Springs too. We need more enthusiasts down here for parties & shit!

As far as the springs. There are a few shops, but as far as im concerned they all suck and or are crooks. Im sure you will like it just fine tho. lol
Id say there is a pretty good size crowd of import people. You can find them on any nice weekend somehwere on academy or powers. Mostly ricers tho haha.
There are some badass rides hidden in colo spgs, you will see one every now and then. Esp this summer they will all come out of hibernation.
Colo is a very nice place, you wont want to go back to the souf lol.

I'm personally not too fond of CS. But your right next to the rockies and if you enjoy driving you car, I'm sure you'll make use of all the mountain roads that CS has to offer. The thin air you definately notice the most, welcome to HAI
