When I bought my car my alarm was in valet mode, today I started messing with it. I turn the car on, flip the switch and the LED light goes out. Then once I close the door, after about 30 seconds the car locks itself, the parking lights flash twice and the LED light starts flashing.

But my problem is that I cant turn the alarm off. I press the arm/disarm button and nothing happens, no beep, no flash, no nothing. So in order to get it to turn off the car alarm goes off and I have to put it back into valet mode.

Anybody have a fix?

I could point and laugh at you, does that help?

sounds like you need the remote fixed. depending on how old the alarm is some of the DEI remotes get bad solder connections. you can either order and program a new remote or i might be able to fix the old one.

I went over the manual, and I did everything they said to get it out of valet mode, thanks for the link tho. You might be right about the remote, somehow the unit isn't receiving a signal

Maybe your remote battery died?

Same thing happened to me on my Grand Cherokee, the battery was going dead in the remote. Replaced battery and it worked fine again.
