Does the deck have a removable face plate?

Yes. Its also the D-Mask thingy that flips over. Absolutely no problems with it whatsoever. Shitload of features as well.

That kenwood deck, what model is it? like number and stuff?

As the post says, the deck is a KMD X-92. If you are referring to the CD player, it is just a slave unit- works like a changer but just one CD. I think its model KDC 300 but that could be way off.
