Hey everybody, I currently own a crappy 92 Toyota Celica ST, And I'd like to do some mods on it. I'm planning on getting a new car within the next 6 months, so i dont want to go too crazy with it, but if any of you know of some things i can do to it for cheap, plase let me know. Some things im looking at is a cold air and piggyback ecu off of ebay, and maybe springs (thats pretty much all i can find for my engine/trim level without going to some pricey performance store). i currently have around $800 to spend.
Thanks,
Nik

The ST isnt even a 16 valve is it?

Save up more and drop in a 3S-GTE. Or save up your money and buy a car that's easier to mod.

It suprisingly is a 16 valve. lol. Its the 4A-FE engine.

yea i got jipped on the purchase price cause my parents pushed me into it cause they thought it'd be good and reliable, but since i split it with them, i get my $1900 back when im ready to buy a new car. What u guys think i should go for? i'd prefer RWD, but my friend just got a B16'd civic and i think im more open to something like that, cause its damn nice. (see the thread "Turboing a Civic")

It's actually a 7A-FE , and there's a fair chunk of modding potential

The user's manual and carsdirect.com are both saying its the 4A not 7A. I also checked some threads on the toyota owners club, and they all seem to be in agreement that the 7A is a 1.8L. I'm sure mine isnt that big, and based on what I've read that size engine isnt even offered till 1994-ish.

Well, if its an A block, you could always drop on a 4A-GE head or drop in a 4AGZE or bolt on the supercharger from the 4AGZE. If you had the 5S-FE, you could bolt on the turbo stuff from the All-Trac

Wow, I totally read the year wrong. i coulda sworn it said "94 Celica" Jeeze I gotta lay off the nitrous at work....
Yeah it's a 4A-FE, and as Skaterkid siad there's the GE head or GZE package for 'stock parts', but there's also basic mods for that car, as well as parts from AE92 and AE111s overlap onto that motor. That's cheap stuff, then there's always swaps: 5S, 3S, 1MZ :PIMP: and other more serious mods

20V 7A-GTE is a setup that's pretty kewl in hachi's. it'd fit in yours too with a bit of love

I can help you make your cold air intake for the cost of parts. I own 2 celicas and have been modding them since I was 16. I live right near you, out in Lafayette. I can also help select springs and struts, my friend owns a business selling Celica suspension products.

You think we could make one more effective than one of those cheap ass monkeys off ebay?
