Dont really know ish, but I talked to someone about my car. I should be pushing about 265 hp stock is what they said without mods. Im probably [maybe] pushing 280 hp or so natural apsiration[being light with it hp wise as i may be pushing more/ less as i havent got it dyno'd though dynos differ]. Would ya throw your money on my shit or a 300hp car forced induct? More than not turbo'd. Just wondering? Thanks.

Uhhh any little civic pushing 7psi will beat you. But that's not really a fair comparison due to the weight issue much less being FI over you. If it was you versus another mustang (turbo'd or SC) I'd have my money on that car in an instant. Realistically if you dyno'd your car you'd only be about 180-190 wheel hp at this altitude at your stock 260hp rating.

Wow, you still didnt make alot of sense. How did you figure your car was making 280hp? Being that it's a GT?

Starting with 265hp at the crank.
Factoring in altitude.... your probably around 210 at the crank, then take off another 15% for drivetrain loss.

So you actually are only putting down about 185hp to the wheels.

With just a little bit of boost you can reclaim the lose from the altitude, boost is the only way to go when at 5800ft asl.

try starting at 215 at the crank..... Only the 99+ GT's are 260hp....

Get your car to a dyno, it's pretty cheap to make a couple pulls and only takes a few minutes. Check with your local shops for when they are doing a "dyno day", usually it just costs a few bucks to line up and make a couple pulls, plus it's fun and you get to see some other fun cars. Occasionally one will blow up its engine, which is fun to watch. Is the 300 HP car also using the WAG method to come up with their HP numbers?

I bet the GT only puts about 170whp up here.

Ya im debating between the Technique tuning turbo kit or the eurosport twin screw supercharger. Either one puts me at about 350 rwhp and 350 rwtq. Not too bad for only 8.5 psi. Just trying to decide which one. Good luck to your brother. That will be one sick E46.

I hadn't seen the Eurosport kit before, that thing rules. Autorotor blower and Laminova IC cores are the best stuff out there. That looks much better than a turbo kit, and it will keep the low-end torquey nature of your E36 intact, which is one of the things I really love about that car. Damn, that makes me want my M3 back:cry:

I talked to a shop here in denver today and they are supposed to have the eurosport kit in a couple weeks. He said they were going to install one on their M3 racecars and he said i could come check it out and he would give me a ride. Im going to do that and if it feels good enough for the butt dyno ill probably go with the twin screw bc it will be more reliable and have a nice powerband.

I think you'll like it, that looks like the perfect setup for your car. With that on, I think you could beat me on a track with some turns.

EDIT - I think this thread is now officially highjacked.

hey dave, when your heading up to the tunershop, let me know, i want to go too. damn it, still torn between a e36 ///m sedan, or a e46 330ci 5speed. i guess when the time comes, it will come down to pricing and which one's cheaper on insurance.

BWAHAHAHAHa. Never though Id say this to you, but thanks for the site man. My car could seat 4 if the passengers in back are tiny chicks lol. I sat back ther once, could barely fit haha. Im guessin the Hp im putting out is 190ish.. dyno will tell though. Not to mention painting the rims gun metal really makes a difference.. Comment wise. I know this post sucks.
