Raced a blue del Sol tonight... was a pretty nice guy, if anyone knows who it is let me know. So I'm delivering, turning into the main street and I see this pretty clean del Sol cross... I'm going the other way, so I think nothing of it. He must have turned around, cuz about 3 miles up he comes up next to me... we cruise for about 2-3 miles doing the speed limit... after that, his buddy gives me a thumbs down. :Peace: So I'm just waiting for the next light... I thought I heard him spool once but I wasn't sure if it was a turbo or a mouse that I hit in the street. So we finally come up to a red light... I roll down my window, and ask what he has done. He says turbo, asks me... swap. Light turns green right after that, pretty gentle launch on both our behalfs. I pull on him about half a car in first... pull to 8,100rpms... shift to second he pulls on me about half a car... shift to third, and we stay about that all the way up to 80mph. Buddy gave me well deserved thumbs up. :king: Told them nice setup... wanted to pull off to see it but I had a delivery to go to. All in all, I was happy with how I did.

I believe your car has the same motor and pretty similar curb weight with your car... I'd think the only advantage one would have is possibly handling... so I wouldn't call it a del Slo... it's essentially what you drive. :p

Nah, the Del Sol's are more flexible than the fixed roof civics, erodes the handling response.

Kia has the Elan but only in Europe.
Hyundai has the tiburon which has a great engine.

I've only been in one Tiburon... it's running 18lbs of boost, and it caught me by surprise. Me... I am impressed with a boosted Tiburon. :)

Umm..a turbo del Sol shouldnt really be all that slow..wonder if they 1) know how to drive 2) know what they are doing with a turbo?

I think a b18 swapped Sol would be resonably fast when done right..and throw a turbo on that? Hrmm..

Bedlam -- the guy seemed to shift pretty quickly... wasn't a bad driver by any means. I was kinda thinking it'd be faster too.

Ya i know him. His name is Matt. Its just a d16 with a turbo. I dont know what size turbo it is or anything. He is a cool kid tho. I raced him the other night and pulled on him. It was my first "official" race with my new car. Congrats on the kill tho. Its not a slow car its just not as fast as it could be with some better parts in there.

Cool, that's what I guessed. He seemed to be a pretty nice guy.

The car had some pep... not a fast car by any means but it was respectable IMO.

Just figure that's it's a little slower than diaper's car. Same motor, similar turbo setup, slightly heavier chassis.

Actually its the exact opposite.
The engine is DOHC Turbo Isuzu and the chassis was designed by Kia.
If anything, Lotus just slapped the badge on the Kia/Isuzu.

You're an idiot. The original Lotus Elan had the turbo Isuzu engine (a close relative to my engine) and had all the chassis work, development and design done by Lotus. Kia bought the rights, and dies to the car and reproduced it. From what I can gather, it did not have the Isuzu engine anymore (it was put out of production in 93 in Japan, along with all Isuzu car related manufacturing) but rather a Kia 1.8l four. Isuzu has never sold the actual manufacturing compoenents for the 4XE1 and 4XF1 (1.8 l Isuzu engine).

in five of your other posts you are trying to buy heads, turbo timers and turbo hondas. and they all were posted within last week. are you sure you actually have a working turbo ls vtec?

ive seen a green one sum white skater dude drives it. Lime Green With Turbo and Sum big racing seat that barely fits. its smoking too never talked to the guy but its a pretty cool car but theyre still slow LOL
Definetely not a skater dude. You are talking about a friend of mine. Very fast del sol with a big ol' holset turbo. It was smoking probably cause the piston rings were done.
