ok tobi i got two questions for ya. 1. the 91 crx SI gauge cluster wont fit into my car, will anyother year work? and 2. i did a rear drum to disc conversion on my 91 HF, but the rear drivers side is having serious allignment issues. its cocked way out and i had to shorten the top control arm about 1 1/2 to 2 inches do i need to get the lower control arm from the car that i got the brakes off of to suck the wheel into alignment?

thanks tobi

Why wont the gauge cluster fit?

What parts did you install on the conversion on the right side that were different than the left side? SOunds like you got the wrong parts or something for one side.

the gauge cluster is just plain the wrong size i guess, and the wiring for si cluster is differnet than the HF. i thought they would be the same, but the location of the high beam indicator, and all the other indicators are in different spots, and the HF cluster has a relay in the back that the SI doesnt have either. not sure what the relay does, but its there. when i put the plastic cluster shroud over the SI cluster, i have a good 1/2" space that isnt covered. and the top two holes on the SI cluster dont match up with the top two mounting brackets in the dash.

as to the rear trailing arms, i used all the same parts on both sides. trailing arms from a 94 integ, upper and lower control arms from my car, and alignment bars from my car. the integ alignment bars were too short, and i was didnt get to take the upper and lwer arms from the car. i got all the parts from my friend who works for a towwing company. when i did the conversion i sought to get the upper and lower arms, but the car had been taken somewhere else.

Yu,p there's your problem, you should have used all of the suspension parts or gotten the disc off an Si hatch or CRX. There are some differences in the teg ones. If you had to shorten an arm by 1-2 inches that should have been a big clue.

Just FYI as far as I know all 90-91 clusters interchange, are you sure you didn't get one from an 88-89? Some of the 90-91 have a blue plug in the back and some don't, I'm still not sure what it is (might be restraint system) but I have swapped a lot and not had problems even if one cluster had the plug and one didn't (unless it wasn't something noticable). The location of the lights don't matter.

If the shape of the clusters are different you have the wrong years. 90-91 tach redline is solid and 88-89 redline is striped. 88-89 is flat on the top front and 90-91 is rounded.

I probably have a 90-91 cluster to try out if you are interested.

Oh and for the rear discs the Si hatch didn't have them. The alternative is 90-93 Integra full swap (just unbolt trailing arms from car and take everything connected) and tie up the ebrake cable. That will bolt right on. The DC stuff is different then the DA.

Youre right, no hatch disc. Im thinking of the EG.

hmmm, slava said it was from a 91 crx SI. but yeah its more flat on top. my hf one is round and not so squat. so you dont know what that blue plug does either huh?

oh and i think im gonna just put the stock drums back on. i dont feel like working on this POS anymore. i have someone interested in buying it so, im just gonna put it back to stock and sell it for like 2k.

The easiest way to tell is the tach redline, if it is solid it is 90-91, striped is 88-89.

ok then its the 88-89 that slava sent me. yeah cause my FH cluster looks almost perfectly like that bottom one, only redline starts at 5k
