If you stay at the Motel 6 it's really cheap. We just got back from Vegas for New Years, and despite the hotel rates doubling for New Year's Eve, it still only cost me $35 for a room for two days and the alchol we bought before we drove out there. I also spent $50 in gas, but I over paid for that.

EDIT: Oh yeah, it's about an 11.5 hour drive, and speeding doesn't get you there any faster. We tried.

How fast were you going? I know that when my roommate was driving, he'd be averaging about 75-80 mph, and he'd pass two or three different signs saying how far away Vegas was (this is continuous driving, no stops) and each time he worked out that we were only traveling 60mph on average. He tolds us this, and I didn't believe him, but when I drove, I had the van doing anywhere between 80-105 mph for the two hours that I drove, and I didn't save us anytime. Even when we had to crawl through the blizzard on the way out there, it only took us a half hour longer than it did on the way back. It's strange.

:werd: I usually just go eat and watch my gf gamble. I'd rather spend the money on something else.

that's exactly what we were doing. we went to Capri casino once with our friends, and my wife and my friends wife were gambling, and we stayed in our rooms - my friend was working on his notebook, and i was practicing my mad tv game skillz in some ricer videogame :)

that's impressive considering it's about 240miles to GJ...that would be averaging about 120mph and considering the mountains, you must have been hitting 140+ to get that kind of average.

so what's the astro van got done to it? :)

true, if we left at 11pm and got there at 1pm. it was dead of night, and i was sleeping in the passenger seat, so 1ish, meant after 1, but not 2am yet. granted if the drive took 2.5 hours, that should average approximately 96mph. again, that's why i put down 1ish, instead of 1pm.

needle in the astrovan's speedometer was pegged so far down that it kept on bouncing back up. astrovan had blistered firestone's by the time we got down to vegas :)
