i know a few people on this board knew about me getting my turbo kit on finally. thanks to everyone who gave me advice and helped me make some important decscions. the track finally opened back up here in tucson for sport compact night and i made 3 passes all right under 14.5 seconds.
anyway, i was driving home from work late one night (round 1 am) and there are a group of older teens my age who like to work on their hondas and acuras till the wee hours of the morning. i hadnt seen them in a while since ive been doing school so i had to let the BOV chime as i went past. as i was pulling into my driveway they drive up behind me and ask if i wanna go make a quick race. i was tired but agreed and we drove 5 minutes to this abandoned desert road which for some reason was recently paved. anyway, this kid had a bit older civic than mine, both of us with SOHC turbos. i was hoping for a close race but was expecting him to beat me just because he has a bit more track experience and from what i understood a few more mods. so the guys 1/4 mile down the road flash the brights and i take off. i had a better launch than i had ever achieved at the track and got a quick jump. i was a bit slow into 2nd and chirped the wheels a bit and he pulled abot half a length ahead. from there on out i slowly pulled and finished about 3/4 of a car length ahead of him. fun race, really proud of my small little civic and just wanted to post to express my satisfaction.
