ME VS. 04 GTI 1.8T

so yesterday we went and watched "Darkness", as we were leaving this kid in a new 04 Gti pulls up and laughs at me and my friend in our hon-duhs, and he does the take off and I yell out "bring it" low and behold this kid turns around and asks if i want to race, I say what do you want to race for?" Kid says just for fun and i say sure why the hell not. so I get on the highway and he follows me and we gun it at about 60 mph and as soon as i hit it, I immediately start to pull on him hard. By the end of third I would say i had 2-3 cars on him and in the end of fourth I had at least 4 1/2 on him. We do this 3 times and it kept being the same (me pulling him) so I pull over and he just opens his hood and he has intake, bov and a manual boost controller and he said that he was at 15 psi. I was laughing so damn hard in my head, he asks what I have and I just say bolt-ons plus 7psi and he was like damn your car is fast. the kid took off and I thought "why in the hell did this kid think my car was n/a?" b/c I did say i was running 7psi. but all in all the kill was great b/c i thought he was running stock boost but it turned out that he wasnt.

BTW: I have a 00 Civic Si with 7 psi on a t3/t4oe

i didnt blow it up, just had some messed up ringlands and cracked pistons, so i got a new block w/ stock internals, swapped my head over and bolted up my turbo kit.

well i ran a 14.90@95mph with a 2.45 60ft. with only the CAI and chip. i feel that the other mods helped out a lot, and if i can drive a little better, the time will go considerably down. You will love your chip :)

Fast01TT- I dont know how fast my car is, should be in the high 13's, low 14's b/c matt (black turbo si too) hit a 14.2 or soemthing like that and he had less power then me.

k04's are pointless. i think what he was getting at is he has the major mods people get first. the only things left are gonna provide very little difference in power.

the only logical choice from where he is at is to get a bigger turbo which requires a different manifold, programing, downpipe, injectors, etc etc and most people dont consider that "bolt on"

Actually a K04 is a "bolt on" since it doesn't require a different exhaust manifold. It uses the stock manifold and it just needs to be.....bolted on :)

haha, your talking to the wrong guy man. the k04 is pointless in my opnion because its only slightly bigger than a k03 sport. youll maybe get 20 more hp than a k03. anyone with a k0 anything isnt worried about spool time smart guy. It doesnt seem like a good power/money mod to me. thats what makes it pointless!!
