So I'm about to do the first oil change on my car. I was wondering what you guys recommend overall and for performance. It's a -NEW- 2004 Saab 9-3. -=FIRST=- oil change on the car, so I don't want something that could hinder its life span.

Synthetic
Everyone has their own brand name preference.
If you cant choose, just go with the most expensive :)

mobile 1 with mobile or bosch filter plus a bottle of bg moa. the bosch filter is basically the same as the mobile filter, but without the synthetic fibers. the mobile filter is also alot heavier then the bosch filter. mobile filter for the accord is 13 bucks, bosch is 6 bucks, up to you how much you wanna spend

Does anyone know the difference between conventional oil, synthetic blend and full synthetic? Also the difference between brands?

Molecule size, synthetic oil molecules are all the same size, non-synthetic oil molecules are different sizes.

Mobil 1 filters are overpriced, and not that great.

Yeah much better oils that are not available at your local store. We all know there are better oils out there, 95% of us want something that we can get anywhere and not have to drive/call all over town to find it.

Napa Gold/Wix are better filters than mobil 1 for half the price.

Castrol Syntec isn't synthetic, it's hydrocracked conventional oil, nowhere near as good.

Yeap, then when its time to change my oil I cook with what I drain out. Pretty unique taste I must say!

I have a problem with burning oil past 5,500 rpms. I thought it was just having a turbo on a D16. Could oil be the solution?
