Why did it have a small explosion first? And why weren't they seriously injured? If all you have to do is get 6 feet away from a grenade to escape injury, I don't see the threat. I thought there'd be some shrapnel or something.

If you end up in the dire situation of being really close to a grenade when it goes off, your best bet is to drop to the ground and try to get yourself out of the shrapnel kill zone which is ballistically more of an upward and out , then directly outward...

I know most of you computor dorks have never been aroung grenades so.... grenades have several differet types and fused timers so they can go off at alot of different intervals. Also the small "pop" is a cap that fires the latch off so if you ever go to throw one hold the latch away from you pull the pin the latch will clear then throw. Most grenades are a 3-5 sec. interval.

Hasnt anyone bought a surpluss de-milled grenade and then put a primer, fuse, and powder and seal it back up? Or is that just me?
