2nd gear grinding

all the gear in my tranny work except 2nd gear. it seems like it doesnt go in and grinds when i force it in. only happen in 2nd. how much do you charge to get it fixed? is it the syncho thats broken? this is for the h22 tranny.

Sounds like a syncro. Also could be the fluid you're using. But since it's Ghandi's forum, I'll shut up now.

i use 10w40 but if its the fluid, wouldnt all the gears grind?

If its that bad that it has to be forced into gear its way past fluid changing. I can get it fixed for you no problem. H22 trans are bad for 2nd gear synchro failures. For an H22 tranny rebuild your looking at right about $975. I looked up the 2nd gear synchro and its over $300 just by itself.

you know they sell 21 spd bikes that have no problem getting into 2nd gear for less than $975
