im going crazy trying to tune my car not knowing whether im actually running rich or lean.would anyone happen to have a wide band O2 sensor that i could borrow. i'd pay some money. i can't trust my gauge with just my regualr o2 sensor. i doubt anyone has one they could lend but it doesnt hurt to ask. thanks

I'm going to be buying one later down the road but it will most likely be hardwired into my car.

You should check on all the local boards if anyone has a portable wideband unit like the LM-1.

Are you looking to sell that or just rent it out?

just loan/rent out for now. Flatirons acura fucked my car up, again, so it'll be in the shop for at least another month or 2. If it's just sitting around at least someone can make use of it. The damn sensors are only like $30 a piece so i'm not worried about it going out.

EDIT:
I do have a few extra NTK L1H1's laying around, though. If you're any good with electronics you can build a controller and display for it for around $60.

wait a sec i think i have something worng. is the wide band only gauge that displays it. does it use just a regular O2 sensor? i was under the impression the whole time that it was a different type of O2 sensor itself also along with the gauge. either way i need this thing but if you could clear that up that would be good. may be a dumb question but i never used one before. help me out a bit. thanks.

What gauge are you using? I hope not Autometer which isnt even compatible with a wideband O2 sensor.

No it's a true wideband. It's a Techedge 2A0 kit with an LSU wideband o2 sensor. The old school widebands used the NTK L1H1 wideband o2 sensors that cost $150-$200 for the sensor itself. The newer widebands like the 2A0 use the LSU widebands, same true wideband readings but the sensors are a LOT cheaper (around 30 bucks). the kit i'm loaning afasucks is the techedge 2a0 controller, the display, the datalogger, and the LSU wideband sensor.

Cmon now, i know better than to buy an autometer lightshow :p

AFASUCKS: you unscrew your factory o2 sensor, and screw in the LSU wideband o2 sensor that's connected to the 2a0 controller. then you connect the factory o2 sensor harness to the techedge's narrowband simulator. In the car, you'll have a display that will actively read out your air/fuel ratio in xx.xx:1 readings

Street Kings, how much did you pay for your 2A0? I was looking at that one but I'm leaning more towards the Zeitronix since it looks better and I have the option of adding EGT and boost.

I paid $325 shipped for the unit, external display, datalogging, 4m cable, and 3 LSU sensors (i soldered it together myself, though). I was going to get the zetronix as well, but the thing that pisses me off is you need to use their software only to review the datalogs since they're heavily encrypted.

The techedge has 4 datalogging inputs and one dedicated RPM, on top of AFR, and has onboard datalogging, so right now i'm logging boost/vac off of the MAP sensor, TPS, IAT, RPM, and VSS.

EDIT: nevermind, just found out the new versions of their datalogging software (zeitronix) have text and excel output now.

ah i see. thats what i thought, but i got a bit confused for a sec there. . man that would make things so much easier to tune confidently. hmm...yeah i have the light show hehe:-/ but hey with how tight my budget is, it's better than nothing. but i really need to use something better to tune with. its impossible trying to make corrections with that thing only telling me when im dangerously lean or super rich. anywyas, thanks for clearing that up for me.
