Finally figured out how to warm up the new slicks right. It was a little cold out today and the track was deserted, but got my best times ever:

I think I'll get 11's out of this setup when it warms up a bit.

Still spinning them some in 1st and 2nd, but now that I smoke the hell out of them they bite much better, I wasn't warming them up anywhere near enough before. My launch is actually better when I spin them just a little bit, otherwise I bog.

Actually one of the guys on a NC board who was there reminded me, we had a 10-15 MPH headwind today too. Now that I think about it was a little windy. Damn, probably could have hit 11's without that.

Next time I'm in Tuscon, I'll be sure to call you. What is it, something like .1s for every 100lb? I don't remember.

yea exactly. so youll be like 11.90 or something. plus we have no hard weather conditions. its like prime racing climate.

ryanman

but also - less weight - less traction

Think I'll eat a bucket of ice cream then, cause I was spinning them a bit out there.

Could slightly larger but lighter wheels help you?

What's your reasoning behind that? I can't see how.

When I posted, I was thinking since it has a larger diameter, it would take longer for it to rotate, therfore less wheel spin.
To make up for the time, cut the weight of the rim.

But now that I think of it more, the contact area is the same so I dont think it would make a difference.
