I need to get some all-season tires.
I dont want performance tires or anything like that.

Just something that will get me from point A to point B but wont fall apart on me if I decide to take a lap.

Anyone using any cheap tires that they found did good?

Thanks

I'm using BFG KDW2's, they are real good, but I heard they suck on snow, cost about $100/each. Maybe the KDW-S, all season version, but I haven't tried it.

I had some Pirelli's on my GSX, They were cheap, all season and still sticky at the track.

Depending on the size I would go with Yokohama's (yk420). I work at Discount Tire and I would say that is a great all season tire. Hope that helps.

So my dad decided he wants to buy me wheels as a chanukah gift today.
Now I am looking at a wheel tire combo.
$500 total
I think 16" would be ideal size

Recommendations?

I wouldnt mind used, so if you know anyone selling something, send them my way.

If I remember correctly, your Civic is stock right? If so, I'd drop it before driving around with some bling bling wheels... don't wanna have people point and laugh at your car. :p

Sounds like this car is gonna be quality.

eBay has H&R and Neuspeed Springs for around $125 shipped out here. :)

Rota 16's are nice, light wheels, that's what I run. They sell for 109/ea. at Tire Discounters. I've got a set of Yokohama AVS ES100's that are in good shape that I'd sell for $150 plus shipping, which puts you a little over budget, but with a nice wheel/tire combo. The ES100's are 205/45's, so your wheel diameter should be about the same as stock, hopefully avoiding the 4x4 look.

check out tirerack.com. kumhos are usually the cheapest high performance tires on the market. check out the kumho touring a/s 795 (?) theyre only like 40 dollars each.

Which one would look best on a 95 Maroon Civic?

5, but not in white. It looks the lightest and that always looks good.

I'm afraid #5 will look like rice because of the white.
More like rice than the others, that is.

Probably, but I'm all for function over form. #5 looks cleanest and lightest (the 15" version of #5 weighs 12.5 lbs, which is pretty light, can't find the weight on the 17", but it shouldn't be too much if the 15" is that light), and I run black Rota Slips, so you know I'm not too concerned about looking like every other ricer out there. Plus any wheel with little patterns in the metal that look like screws, but is not a two-piece wheel, looks like rice to me. Check out some Kosei K1's, those are some light, nice looking wheels. Here's some Anthracite K1 Racings:

Or if you really want to get noticed, plus the K1 TS is a very light wheel (10.6 lbs for the 15"x7"):

I like the black rims. They would look the tight. I don't think that black with a lip is played out at all IMO.

I am thinking of the black.
I like it, and I dont think its too ricey.

When I get home, I will take a pic of the car so we can photoshop the pics.

There is my car.
That pic looks like the rear wheel has already been photoshopped.

Anywho, if anyone wants to play with photoshop, please do.
I am going to try this myself.

So I just ordered these rims:
http://www.wheelmax.com/Specials/bsa/330.gif

They look kinda heavy, but I've got VTEC.
They are 17"

How much should I drop the car?
