So I was following Hung, Steve and Leo to the Red Lantern tonight after the meet. So on 92nd Avenue, we come up behind this riced out Neon. Blue wheels, black boday, blue skirts, ghetto hacked exhaust. Didn't sound too bad though. So Steve tries to race him in the Accord, and gets beat, much to my glee. So as we pull up to a light, Steve gets behind the Neon, and Hung tells me I should own him. I figure, there's no cops at the intersection, and no one came after Steve when he raced, so why not. So I pull up, and rev my engine on them. I get looks of shock and confusion as the three guys in the Neon are trying to comprehend what is going on. The light turns green, and I launch it a bit, and once I hear the exhaust on the Neon open up, I hammer it. Car pulls hard thanks to the cold air and I pull on them bad. But on the other side of the intersection, right after the shift to second, I hit sand or water or something. Now I'm spinning my tires, and still pulling on these guys. I shift to third, and see that I'm approaching a bunch of stopped cars, so I hammer the brakes.
The Neon guys pull up and I'm expecting accusations of spraying or them telling me my car sucks. Instead, I'm greeted by "That was fucking awesome man!" and "that's the coolest thing I've seen ever!" I then realize, my CEL is on. Oh shit. So now I'm straining my ears listening for rod knock, check my oil pressure and coolant temp. Everything looks fine, but the car idles funny. And when I take off, its slow. So now I'm scared. I ended up losing Leo and Hung, so I decided to take the car home. Turns out all my worrying was for naught because a plug on my CAS popped out and that's what was throwing the code. Car runs fine now.
