So there is only a test and tune on the second day?

That is what we are shooting for but unfortunately as with any track there will be people blowing up parts and holding the event back. This is why we have designated this event for only street cars ... basically if you drive your car on the street and it's streetable ... then you are welcome to join.

Nothing is guaranteed but with the help of everyone's participation ... it most likely will happen. The schedule of events have been shown to the track manager and there doesn't seem to be a problem with a couple of T&T sessions. We want to make sure everyone gets there monies worth.

Douglas raceway is a very nice track.

I have been there many times. You can see the track from I-25. It has two huge flags on the finish line lights. It is right across from a Pamida on what seems to be a main street. It used to be an old airport that was converted to a dragstrip.

Its no Bandimere, but sure is hell isn't Pueblo bad.

Okay, I think I'm confused here. You are having a test and tune on the second day, but that is independant of time trials for the racers right? I was thinking that the racers would only be getting time trials the second day, which I found odd. I think I get it now.

It's between Wheatland and Casper on I-25. North of Cheyenne. Do you have closer directions? Which exit off I-25 or What road or adress?

As a suggestion from another racer, the King of the Track payout was too low so it has been upped from $500 to $1000.

Umm...have you ever raced there? If T/A Dragsters and funny cars can run 5"s there, I'm sure a 9 second car will be fine.

I dont think that 5 sec cars run there...my buddy with a mid 8 sec camero runs there alot and he said he loves the track and the atmosphere (more of a relazed atmosphere) but he said that it sucks stopping because its flat unlike bandi where after the finish is the gradual uphill, he said that he HAS to use his chute or there is no way he can get stopped, at bandi he can if he really wants to but can stop w/o it if needed...so if there are 5 sec cars there i dont know how the hell they stop..but honestly i dont know...just my $.02

NHRA ran Division 5 races there for years.

Here are results from 1998 when they ran 6's.

http://www.nhra.com/fedmog/1998/div5/Douglas7-12.html#sun

90% of tracks on the NHRA circuit are flat and are mandated to have at least 1/4 mile shutdown area. Douglas used to be an old airport runway so there is plenty of room to slow down.

Basically what I'm saying is that for everybody on this website the track is more than adequate.
