My friend drives a 96 civic dx (d16y7)
when ever he steps on the gas there is a loud rapid ticking sound, once he hits about 4000rpm it gets louder and faster (car doesn't have vtec but sounds like it) and when he is accelerating from a low rpm it makes a terrable sound, sounds almost like metal is rubbing. I was thinking it could be an exhaust leak, but I checked all the flanges from the downpipe back and none of them leak
anybody have an idea? think its the head?
