This is in my 89 240sx w/ sr20det. While driving it seems to run great, but when every I drive above 63mph a waring chime starts to go off. It will continuously go off until I drop down below 63 mph. It's not the door chime, but sounds exactly like it. I haven't looked at wiring diagrams yet, but what chime could this before, and how do I fix it. No warning lights come on, just the noise. I don't even know what would connected to a chime that would be speed dependant? Cruise Control?

Some cars had a "feature" that would warn you if you exceeded a certain speed (that you can set). This seemed to be more common years ago, and a common joke was to set it to 5 mph on someone. Anyway, I wouldn't be surprised if the car came with that, in which case you should be able to turn it off without destroying anything. It's just a matter of figuring out how...

my first car (1983 BMW 733i) had an on dash computer that had that feature on it, came in real handy when trying not to get speeding tickets.
